    I worked at Accenture

    Pros

    Good opportunities to see meaningful impact of work, great brand, good benefits, very good for Analyst to Manager level.

    Cons

    You're simply a number, loyalty on your end doesn't translate to loyalty on theirs. change in CEO a few years ago changed direction of company; culture has been changed for the worse; loosely defined hiring criteria and it seems like the company is hiring a lot of folks at levels they shouldn't be at. the more senior you get at the firm, the less opportunity you have to work on new / intriguing projects (a lot of "pigeonholing")

    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    I have been working at Accenture full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    You will work with very smart people;
    You can gain a wide variety of experiences by seeking out different types of work;
    Salary is fair (but not great - they aim to be right in the middle of the industry);
    You will generally find a collaborative work atmosphere on most projects

    Cons

    Your enthusiasm will wane after a few years;
    Maintaining a work/life balance can be a struggle, particularly when the company would prefer that your extracurricular and volunteer activities occur within the realm of Accenture;
    The evaluation and promotion process is serviceable but far from perfect - it comes down to luck and politics not necessarily effort and results

    I have been working at Accenture

    Pros

    Great place to launch a career. A lot of vacation time, but if you are able to use it will depend on your project

    Cons

    Low wages compared to industry. Lack of intersting projects. Although they claim you can control your destiny the constant restructuring results in a lot of pigeon-holing

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pay higher rates.

    A large bureaucracy at times, but I have not come across a more ethical company. You will run the risk of being lost.

    I have been working at Accenture

    Pros

    Exceptional brand name and flexible work hours. I have never known someone to deny a vacation.

    Cons

    Your career is at the mercy of the projects being staffed when you happen to be available. It is difficult to transition projects with appropriate timing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Base your recruiting on caliber of school rather than minimum GPA. A 3.0 from Harvard should not be outranked by a 3.4 engineer from NC State.
