    I worked at Accenture full-time

    Pros

Great people, meritocracy, great opportunities & projects, strong culture & core values, training, feedback, accountability

    Cons

Heavy workload, difficult to balance work-life, difficult to find time for training & work/life balance

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be careful about rigid views of personnel; just because someone is working in a particular job does not necessarily mean that they are not capable of contributing more in a different job.

I worked at Accenture as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Even though the company is very large, they make it seem small with the efficiency and kindness of the employees.

    Cons

Lots of movement in the office. Dead time was common among the staff in the IT support area. This may have only been a seasonal thing too, being that it was summer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Thanks for making new employees welcome.

I worked at Accenture full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The PEOPLE, culture, core values, competitive salaries and bonuses, benefits, 27 days PTO, great varying role opportunities, corporate citizenship... oh and did I say the amazing PEOPLE you'll learn from every day?!

    Cons

80% travel in the Consulting workforce (which you know going into the job, but after a couple years this can get old). Also, depending on the project, you may be working 40 hr weeks or 80 hr weeks.... Cross your fingers the 80 hr weeks don't last 6+ months. Having said that, Leadership has implemented many flexible work schedule and strategic location initiatives to TRY to give people a better work-life balance.

I have been working at Accenture full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

You are surrounded by intelligent co-workers. Depending on the role you have and your professional interests/goals, the work can be very intriguing and rewarding. If you are driven and want to learn more so that you can add more value, you will probably enjoy your time here.

    Cons

Despite a two week training as part of the new analyst on-boarding process, there is still a pretty big gap between what is gleaned there and what is expected of you at a client site. Part of the problem is that roles with similar titles vary quite a bit between clients. "Business Analyst" doesn't necessarily mean the same thing at all of the places you could end up staffed.

Getting a good role can be dependent on luck in many cases. You will also have to deal with a staffing agent initially, who is highly motivated to get you staffed in your local area (to the extent of rejecting roles you would otherwise be confirmed for as a perfect fit-- because it's not local-- in favor of supplying a "warm body" to a local project.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow the talent you've recruited to pursue their interests and strengths-- you'll get a better return on your investment.
