I have been working at Accountemps

    Pros

    1. got me a interview with a client company real quick( 2 days after my meeting with the recruiter).
    2. there are some online training courses

    Cons

    1. the staffing managers dont reply to my emails on time. One said he would call back me back the second he received my call but never actually returned my call.
    2. little time for you to consider wether to take the job or not.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please put more effort in training the staffing managers and really pay the contractors what they are worth.

I worked at Accountemps as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Made great effort to find me work.
Landed permanent position on second job placement.

    Cons

After finding me work, only called when they wanted inside info about client comp (like what we're they looking for in next temp they hired).
Told company I was working with, a complaint I specifically told them not to share.
Charged the company a lot of money and paid me crap.
Client company low balled me in salary because they knew temp agency wasn't paying me much.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have more concern for those working for you.

I worked at Accountemps full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The staff was helpful and found me work within days of signing up. Online training is offered.

    Cons

Hard to move from temp position to permanent position because of contract terms. Because of that - it is possible to get into the trap of never moving from the temp position to a permanent position. Accoutemps take a large percentage of the salary - it seems exploitative. Would recommend for a very short term - but be diligent about looking for other employment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    None.

I have been working at Accountemps as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Often have access to temporary assignments that are not available anywhere else.

    Cons

May have very little work in your city.
The pay is generally less than the going rate.
Much of the available work will be posted elsewhere and you can apply on your own.
Will post phantom jobs to recruit people to sign up with them.
Will often try to get you to take as little money as possible for a temp assignment.
Will feed you misinformation about an assignment in order to get you to accept assignment.
Then when you inform Accountemps of the misinformation, they blame the client and refuse to renegotiate pay or hours.
In a few instances spent almost as much time trying to get paid by Accountemps as I actually worked for them!

I worked at Accountemps as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Most of the agents I talked to were real friendly.

    Cons

They only care about having a body to fill their clients' opening; they didn't care about finding me a job that fit my skills, never mind a position I'd actually enjoy. The evidence: I was only offered positions that I was very over-qualified for. I have a Bachelors in finance and a Masters in business but was just offered jobs like bookkeeping for $12 or $15/hr.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't treat seasoned professionals like inexperienced college grads.
