    Pros

    Intelligent people who deeply care about the product they provide. What could be more rewarding than helping patients with cancer.

    Cons

    Poor management, uncompetitive pay, disorganized leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Figure out how to retain key people. Get a better HR team. Decide how you are going to gain a competitive advantage over your much more well established competitors.

    I have been working at Accuray full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    The passion for the products is what binds all colleagues together and provides a sense of pride for giving patients truly great cancer treatment options.

    Cons

    Poor management from the top down. CEO has minimal to no accessibility, especially for a small company. Tactics are always changing and rarely line up to strategies. Sales globally have consistently lacked, causing budget/funding cuts from the bottom to make quarterly earnings. Lack of career growth- lots of Directors/VP's are hired, but long-term, dedicated employees rarely receive significant promotions. Low morale and poor culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Motivate/reward your employees properly. Hone in on lack of sales and rally the company's efforts to support the funnel. Build a personality for the company by nurturing a culture where people feel valued and heard.

    I have been working at Accuray

    Pros

    The product and people who work here are great. There are many hard working resourceful people working here.

    Cons

    Training is non-existent and most of the company is run inefficiently with very little structure. There are many key individuals in Accuray who hold are struggling to hold the company together.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Work-life balance and compensation need to be examined. I would not advise any friends to work at Accuray.

    Pros

    Laid back enviroment, not much concern on whether you even show up for work on any given day. Just call in just before start time and inform management that you are not coming into work that day.

    Cons

    Does anyone know what they are doing or managing? Total chaos as to the current management team, high employee turnover. Lack of focus,

    Pros

    high quality products that make a real difference in the quality of life for those fighting cancer

    Cons

    senior management, senior management, senior management. They are inconsistent, act like they are infallible and individual contributors aren't of value. Hollow talk of 'best practices' while implementing confused, inefficient processes and tools while not listening to feedback because it doesn't fit their views.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    good management earns respect, recognizes and rewards loyal employees at all levels. Arrogance and demanding respect while failing to appreciate currently committed employees will backfire. The majority of employees I know would not recommend Accuray as an employer despite a handsome referral program.

    Pros

    Noble cause of fighting cancer
    New technologies

    Cons

    Poor management
    Not enough consideration for the customers (too centered on orders..)
    Poor marketing in general, a single offer, no market segmentation...
    Disappointing results since the acquisition of TomoTherapy (merge has been very badly managed)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Have a better and more innovative marketing approach
    More consideration for the customers
    Improve management skills
    Should listen more its employees
