    Availability and Quick shipping on 60,000+ items. ACE Hardware.com is attractive to consumers and the accompanying rewards program is effective

    Cons

    Not all items are readily available in the store and many competing items advertised, but not carried by each store.

    Pros

    Flexible hours if you are part time in school.
    You learn about a wide range of products as well as gain valuable hardware knowledge.
    Great benefit if you ever want to more into Ace Hardware or True Value Corporate world.
    Physical work keeps you in shape especially during the summer.

    Cons

    Having to work weekends.
    The pay is pretty awful even if your stores profit is increasing.
    No room for growth unless you want to be a retail assistant or store manager.
    Stores are usually very under staffed.
    Very little vacation days that can't even be used when you want.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pay your employees what they are worth.
    Split up projects between employees and don't rely only on your best employees to get a job done.

    Pros

    Great learning experience. Clients are unreasonable for working in a hardware store. A lax job as clients mostly came at peak hours and the rest of the time is spent wasting time.

    Clients are unreasonable for working in a hardware store. Management is lackluster and does just enough to keep their job and is quick to criticize others.

    Fun atmosphere, working outside, lots of customer interaction, small family like feel, opportunity to work lots of hours or come and go as you please

    Cons

    pay is low, work long hours during the busy season. extremely dirty, employees are treated as expendable, winters can be very cold

    Great People, great Store, Great Place to work. Open floor no boundaries, able to work all departments. Sales Associates friendly and knowledgeable.

    Cons

    It is retail so the hours, some nights and weekends. The pay is too low. And raises are few and far between.

    Pay your people better.
