I have been working at Acosta part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-5 weeks unpaid time off each year. You are off for a week during Easter, Memorial day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.
    -Flexible scheduling.
    -Very easy work.

    Cons

-NO RAISES!!!! Yet Acosta keeps buying up small marketing companies.
-My Day to day supervisor doesn't even work for Acosta. She works for SAS. My Acosta supervisor {whom I have never met or even spoken with) writes my annual review with no input from my day to day supervisor. What a joke.
-No room for growth or advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

How about sharing the love and giving the people in the trenches a raise. We do all the hard work and get nothing in return.

I have been working at Acosta part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Working Independently, coupons, customer service, working with the public

    Cons

Being threatened by manager, being told they will stop giving hours, not enough pay, no paid vacation, company wants you to work your butt off, but for the managers bonus, you get nothing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop threatening with hours, I work just as hard as you, I have bills just as you do.

I have been working at Acosta part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible hours, just not enough for me. Good co-workers generally.

    Cons

Very few benefits. Vacation time is accrued according to the hours you work and cannot be carried over to the next year. If you leave mid year, you have to give it all back for that year. Not cool. Pay is low and no raises! Little chance of advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more. Offer more benefits to part-timers that work unGodly hours (5am-1pm) like I have. Management at lower levels don't care how inconvenient it is for you to get a job done. Just get it done! Very little to no work around Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I have been working at Acosta part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Choose days to work, work is easy, not confined to one place, no one breathing down your back, no weekend or after 5 work

    Cons

Hours fluctuate dramatically, slim to none at times, no raise or bonus, commute is more than what is made, given minimal hours so healthcare qualification isn't reached

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give people a real opportunity for advancement

I have been working at Acosta full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Hours are flexible with raising a family and attending school full-time. Most managers are willing to help with coverage when taking vacation.

    Cons

Company has not given raises to individuals that work at a retail level for over 5 years. Very little chance for advancement within the company.

I worked at Acosta part-time for less than a year

    Pros

I think, if you have the right manager, or work in the office, it can be a great place to work. Half-days before holidays, or the ability to leave an hour early on holidays, plus not usually having a manager breathing down your neck, are some good reasons to work for the company.

    Cons

Very large, bureaucratic company, and over-worked, stressed managers. Sometimes unfair and heavy workloads, and constant changes, leading to confusion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lay off the unit managers. They work really hard, and as the saying goes: "Sewers run downhill."

I worked at Acosta as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Good environment, awesome talent. The projects are interesting, and they do use the latest technology.

    Cons

They brought a very talented team of developers in for a multi year project on contract. After 3 months they canceled dozens of contracts with no warning.

Upper level management treats lower level management very poorly. They don't understand day to day business operations, so they have no idea the impact of their demands. They will threaten to fire your boss right in front of you for no real reason.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more aware of your financial situation before you bring a lot of staff in from out of town for projects. You are going to have a hard time getting talent for future projects.
