I worked at Actavis full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Wasn't there long enough to rate. Actavis acquired Warner Chilcott officially in Oct 2013. I worked in Clinical Operations at the Rockaway, NJ office. They are the few left after WCs lay offs for all other depts. Heard that the health care benefits are not good and pricey. WC had a $20/p mo full medical/dental benefit for single and $50/p mo for family while Actavis is health benefit plan is worth over $300/p mo for single. Change in Health coverage plan went into effect on March 1, 2014.

    Cons

Cons – Too many to name - management in Clinical Operations have a bad reputation. It can be seen as a result of their high turnover rate of their employees. Beware of management as they will use what they can and fire you just as fast as they hired you for any odd ball reason. If you see good ratings - be wary.

Advice to Senior Management – Treat people with respect and honor their achievements. What comes around goes around. Thank God I'm out of there.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actavis needs to see what is going on with WC management. High turnover rate under their management is awful and they do not treat people with respect nor honor their achievements. What comes around goes around. Thank God I'm out of there.

Used to be a great company before the name change/acquisition from Watson.

I worked at Actavis full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Pays well, or at least the legacy people were paid well, benefits are good. Stock price is way up, can't figure that one out.

    Cons

VP at the Mt. Prospect location is nuts, but that's ok as he'll be retiring before long, or at least he hopes so. Major disconnect from the HR department, emails unanswered, phone calls ignored, treated the Mt. P people like second class citizens. The company had 9 months to get our separation agreements in order and couldn't do that correctly, as some have said "they can't even fire us right"! Secretly promoting people so they can babysit senior management is flat out wrong, not promoting individuals who deserve it is also wrong. I could go on and on but you get the point...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop buying companies before you tank, you're becoming Pfizer of the generic industry and it's only a matter of time before the house of cards collapses. Go back to the Watson culture and your employees will be much happier. Don't believe everything you are told from senior management who have been lying to you, telling you what you want to hear and not the truth, isn't that right NK, & MO?!?

I have been working at Actavis full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

401K match - Vesting after 2 years due to high turnover rate.

    Cons

Threatening, bullying management. Very long hours due to skeleton staff. IT management gives absolutely no direction, but they are happy to chew you out for not working weekends. Upper management very nasty and looking to sell company to make a quick buck and exit with their millions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

While trying to sell company stop company wide emails that state to "keep working" and ignore the imminent sale. It's not working.....

I have been working at Actavis full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good expanding Company providing quality product with good quality employees at low and mid level.

    Cons

Senior management think they are the ones making the money not the rest of the Company. Middle management, in Barnstaple in particular, are just yes women ( not men)
Communication downwards is poor and upwards non existent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your priorities right - communicate.
Spend money on essentials like black topping the car park so employees are not walking through stones and mud, instead of paying board members $ M bonuses.

I worked at Actavis full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Workforce good, knowledgeable and responsive. The Company has many long term employees who are not of the 'we've tried that before' kind but need positive leadership and involvement.

    Cons

The management from the top down has a bullying, threatening management style, particularly the female senior managers. Finance, HR, Business Admin all show this and good loyal employees have given up trying in response.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop bullying learn to manage.
    Try involvement, encouragement, participation.
