I have been working at Adecco

    Pros

They have very little interaction with you as a contract employee. I worked at a tech company that they staffed for a longterm project. I received a paycheck from them. That was basically the only interaction I had with them.

    Cons

They are very hands off. Getting in contact with a representative could be difficult. Any time they contacted team members it was to let them know they were being let go. They handled a mass lay-off in the most unprepared and unprofessional way. I felt their employees are less qualified and professional than the people they hire for most contracts.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Adecco (more than an year)

    Pros

Working at the tech company is a great environment.

    Cons

All interactions with Adecco (few) have been disappointing. Poor communication, no help given with small issues like updating information, mailing out items like checks, etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please ask program managers to actually do their jobs.

I worked at Adecco as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Many short to long term temp jobs for this client. Possibly may be a long term assignment for as long as one year or shorter. Client is known to be difficult to get hired into and this is one way to gain a temp job for them.

    Cons

Poor training and a poorly, non-flexible, illogical work schedule that really does not support the client as well as it could and should. The same carrot is dangled in front of everyone one who is hired on to this cattle-call of an assignment: "You'll get to go perm" but don't believe it. This is, unfortuntately an all too typical situation these days in the still bad economy and the joblessness crisis that our Country is still in -- an assembly line of many bodies. Throw them at the walls and see who sticks! It's odd; go to the trouble to find good people and then hire them and train them and if there is any kind of glitch instead of working with them to make things work -- just get rid of them and replace them with another drone. Human capital is inhuman -- worker beware!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the good workers and work with them to stay on the assignment.

I worked at Adecco full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

they found a position relatively easy

    Cons

young hires were very unprofessional and played a lot but they seemed to keep their jobs and training was very unhelpful provided by the temps such as myself

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give new temps more professional training than temps from the same agency as it was very unprofessional and they tend to be very rude and also unprofessional in training persons new to the position

I have been working at Adecco full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Adecco is full of clock watchers, so the pros are "No Overtime work"

    Cons

Lack of career growth and poor compensation.

Once pay is reasonable and fair, other things become important: recognition, respect, challenging work, opportunities for development… the feeling that a job is more than just a job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

See cons above, management skips over "providing a fair reasonable pay" and is willing to give recognition if it doesn't cost Adecco any money.

I have been working at Adecco full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The jobs are easy to get so if you have no work experience it is easy to find a job. They have many different positions available based on skills.

    Cons

Even after working for years full time you are still considered a temp, promotions are based on headcount so after being promoted you will be demoted considering the jobs a seasonal, pay is low compared to other companies with similar conditions. Your schedule will change constantly.

I have been working at Adecco

    Pros

Somehow Adecco managed to score a great contract from Roche Medical. There was a lot of work available for them to assign.

    Cons

Very disorganized. Distributing training material at the last moment, requiring redundant information from their field employees, not having accountable admins to help me out. Changed rules for compensation mid-contract.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Plan ahead.

    Pros

Great office space, leadership is non-existing, laid back environment. Good environment for recruiters . They send you nationally for training

    Cons

Leadership is incompetent, terrible delivery of services manager/ process for the medical and science team. No support/ terrible leadership for sales people. Leadership values - lie/cheat/steal.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should consider changing all recruiters on staff or add new recruiters specifically for the transactional accounts.
Area Director needs a lot of training on leadership skills
