I worked at Adobe full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great Photoshop and Acrobat franchise give the company great brand value.
A still evolving Marketing Cloud strategy.
Great benefits and work life balance.

    Cons

Sales reorganizations and layoffs make business challenging.
People are well paid and there is little movement so personal career growth is challenging.
Need to move beyond just business model "innovations." Created a subscription billing platform and now need to bring more product and service innovation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Subscriptions were well received and finally understood by investors. Now need to focus on greater value per customer and other services to attract new customers.
Give future leaders more breadth of experience by moving them around.

    Pros

Very green company. I love their core principles and find they give direction in the company.

    Cons

Bigger company, challenges with transitioning from Omniture. Adobe is making things better though.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Adobe full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The closer you work to the big products, the more fun and creative the work environment is. The pay is pretty good, and the benefits are nice. I was given a lot of leeway by my manager to try and innovate, but the company is not built for broad sweeping changes.

Current management is brilliant. The overall shift the company has made in the last few years has been incredible. The company was not headed in the right direction for a long time and now things are looking very very well.

    Cons

The San Jose office is depressing.the company is still taking a very long time to get serious about disrupting long-standing parts of the business. 30 years of legacy code means attachment issues, and a lot of work to do before real innovation can happen.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work. But if you could, take more chances on smaller projects. The Kickbox (disruptive innovation workshop/incubator) program needs more attention.

    I worked at Adobe full-time

    Pros

    --Cool products
    --Cool customers
--Upbeat environment - high morale, positive energy
--People are (mostly) very nice, collegial, interesting, fun - and capable. Genuine experts in their respective areas.
--Management is pivoting the company quickly, and successfully
    --Great office space
--Pay and benefits are very good
--There are no loafers at Adobe - everyone works hard. Employee engagement in their jobs and the company is very high

    Cons

--November = layoff season. Creates a lot of stress
--Analysis paralysis around (some) decision making. Burden of analytical proof for any decision is almost impossibly high. Bring data or stay home; expect to have every number picked at with a fine tooth comb. Can lead to painfully long meetings and long hours.
--In a few areas - not many - some very aggressive people. Some level of being able to fall back on tenure as a justification for treating others poorly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Everything is working great; but try to find a way to make November a happier time. Also, make "respect for the individual" true - tenure allows some to get away with workplace bullying. While analytic rigor is good, need to move the debate focus from numbers to ideas.

I worked at Adobe full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Good management, leadership, competitive salaries
I liked the generous time-off policy, including the shutdown vacations.
Yu may find many intellectual and innovative peers.

    Cons

Can't think of too many cons. But definitely feel there is limited work-life balance. Work may spill over on weekends and weeknights occasionally.

    I worked at Adobe full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, people are smart and lovely to work with. After refocusing on key product lines and markets, stock has done tremendously well.

    Cons

Marketing functions can be highly segmented and higher level management very hard to break into - you either have to be hired into these or leave and then get re-hired for these roles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be ideal to have a more dynamic CEO - in the absence of this, keep nurturing the stars one level below, and keep investing in opportunities for your employees.

I worked at Adobe full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Pretty laid back if you're a QE

    Cons

hard to move around or out of Quality Engineer in to something else. It is impossible to apply for other positions within the company; they won't even give you an interview.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let people explore other interests in the company instead instead of keeping them where they are
