    Pros

    Great benefits, training, and experience.

    Cons

Headquarters is located in one of the most expensive parts of the country. The compensation could be better for this factor

    Pros

The people at Adobe are an incredibly smart and creative bunch. Overall benefits package is excellent, including sabbaticals every five years. Good ongoing learning and development opportunities. It's common to move around to different groups so there's opportunities to try new things.

    Cons

There's a lot of opportunities to make lateral moves, but it's difficult to get beyond first line manager status. Some execs can be very hands on with projects at a micro level (e.g. feature and UI decisions). Re-orgs and small layoffs happen frequently.

    Advice to Management

I wish management was less hands on at times, and instead more inspiring with both their vision and strategic direction. I do think the company has made very smart moves and acquisitions in particular (Fotolia especially).

    Pros

    - Laid back atmosphere that promotes a fantastic work/life balance. - Phenomenal benefits--from the health plans, to flexible vacation policy, and set company breaks. - Great coworkers. - There is a push to redefine what Adobe is from the inside out with varying success. - you feel like your contribution matters. Leaner teams mean you have more impact on the company (and project) bottom line.

    Cons

    - Vision is sometimes lacking from above (or at least not clearly communicated to staff). - Sometimes difficult to work on what you want (or were hired for) - Inertia in older codebases (and defined process around the application) can be difficult to overcome. - There is a drive to adhere to Scrum even when it sometimes doesn't fit the project goals.

    Advice to Management

    - Define that clear vision that motivates your teams. Understand that changing direction often can confuse and demotivate. - Realize that development methodologies aren't one size fits all. - Push to simplify both the process and the system. Adding process for process sake is a dangerous path that leads to immobility. Allow engineers to reduce complexity and debt whenever possible.

    Pros

Great innovative company, fantastic benefits, looks like lots of fun activities for those in offices, great support from your teams and usually teams for clients are full of different resources with varied experience that makes it fun to work on and helps you learn from engagements.

    Cons

consulting is very busy and demanding - client work is always very focused and mostly around implementations. the amount of hours just to do the client work can easily be the whole week - anything you want to learn or do special is usually outside of the time which makes it easy to reach burnout if not managed properly. There is also lots of learn on the job with clients which makes it hard to be confident and present an organized front to clients.

    Advice to Management

help consulting work smarter, focus on items that make our lives/jobs easier to do and faster, change our model so that we don't burn out so easily. Also, all the different areas of the company need to share and utilize our own resources to take advantage of them.

    Pros

Great company, great people. Work atmosphere is very relaxed and flexible. The company genuinely seems to want to keep its employees happy with good benefits, perks (free lunch, great food, happy hours), etc.

    Cons

It's a huge company and there is sometimes huge company bureaucracy. Being so geographically distributed can be nice since there is likely an office where you want to live, but it can be hard to split so many time zones.

    Advice to Management

Be cognizant of how projects are split across regions. It's very difficult to work on a project when trying to coordinate across India, Europe, and California.

    Pros

Best people, great location, fun projects, career growth, involved in community, celebrates diversity.

    Cons

Sometimes challenges are ignored. Sometimes quality IP & HR are let go too soon.

    Advice to Management

Ignore the market & look to the 5-year roadmap: you are amazing, so just be Adobe. Publish your demographics so you're held accountable to more than the stockholders.

    Pros

    * surrounded by many ambitious, smart, engaged colleagues * forward-looking executives that manage outside perception and stakeholders' expectations well * San Jose, CA HQ & main SF, CA office spaces but not the 2nd & Brannan SF space (too crowded) with poor noise/distraction handling, and not conducive to fostering productivity

    Cons

    * overworked on newly acquired SaaS side of the business - insufficient resources and staff to help manage the day to day business as we focus on driving customer success at the expense of employee burnout * exceptionally high staff turnover in SaaS digital execution and consulting staff, leading to overall account management issues * ineffective and poorly trained middle management that operate as effective individual contributors but have inadequate management skills to supervise and lead business growth among overworked individual contributors

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to acquisitions and make sure that the acquired management team is in a alignment with the corporate game plan and able to execute, especially if it involves transformation or innovation.

    Cons
