I have been working at Advantage Sales and Marketing

    Pros

Very social of you like engaging with customers while at the same time marketing products. it's a nice side job pretty much. and my coworkers

    Cons

when customer traffic is really fast and you can't keep up with the crowd and when traffic of customers is so slow with practically no customers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The only thing i have to suggest is that they don't excessive employees to try and boost sales, it doesn't work, it only ends up taking time from the current workers.

I worked at Advantage Sales and Marketing

    Pros

It is fun handing out samples and talking to the general public.

    Cons

There is no real motivation to sell your product....also I'm guessing this depends on your manager you might only hear bad things even if you are exceeding sales goals and doing your job properly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give employees more incentive to do well.

I have been working at Advantage Sales and Marketing part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The best reasons to work for ASM is to build character, learn direction in the food industry, to learn and instill values

    Cons

Challenges would be physical; having to set up the demo station, brake it down, and walk across the super-super sized markets of today in lightening speed to meet time constraints and without taking short cuts to get things don in a timely manner. I never took short cuts in food safety. Therefore, I know that it can be done through practice and discipline as long as short cuts are not taken because not taking short cuts builds strength, character and work skill and it keeps me in compliance with safety policies that science took many years to study and prove to help the food service industry...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

All demo event specialists should be monitored by ASM and given feedback to help improve workmanship and given an opportunity to become a lead, eventually, because I believe that we are a team, and the desire to succeed is what we have most in common.

I worked at Advantage Sales and Marketing part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Great to put on a resume if you want initial sales experience. They will essentially hire anyone so this was great for getting my foot in the door for sales.

    Cons

If you don't have reliable transportation then consider where you will be working. They might schedule you at locations outside of your biking or bus range so that can be tough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Can't complain here. Some of the marketing strategies were a little strange, like sampling chicken salad while selling dog food. That was strange.

    Pros

If you on SSI you can work part time on weekends, and they training video online for you to look over so you know what you are doing.

    Cons

You get to sample some of the product and learn new and easy recipes plus you get to know some of the employee's at the store you work at.
