    Pros

Great company as you are afforded the opportunity to help people.

    Cons

Company has lost sight of the marketing that got them where they are. For the last 5 years, they have forsaken the veteran associate, rates are too high compared to the competition and as an AFLAC associate, you are competing more against outer AFLAC associates than you are the competition.

    Advice to Management

Lower rates and greatly reduce the amount of associates.

    Pros

Parties, incentives, set your own hours

    Cons

MLM approach to selling insurance, questionable ethical behaviors, being "married" to the job, pressure from upper management.

    Advice to Management

Support your agents, do what you say you're going to do, be fair, don't play favorites.

    Pros

Autonomy and being your own boss. You learn how to cold call and handle the rejection. There is an endless supply of sales materials.

    Cons

Lack of training to be successful and no benefits. Cold calling on a saturated market and the time it takes to actually "make the sell." It usually takes multiple meetings, possibly weeks before getting the account.

  8. Helpful (3)

Too much saturation in the market. Stop hiring just anyone that is wanting a job.

    Pros

Great opportunity to make a lot of money if you can find the right client and uncover the needs of the employees.

    Cons

They hire so many reps that it's not about having to compete with competitors in the market, you have to compete with other AFLAC agents. That diminishes the value of the company to potential clients.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring just anyone that is willing to walk door to door with an AFLAC shirt and swag. That alone doesn't make a great sales person.

    Pros

Your own schedule and manage your own time

    Cons

B2B cold calls getting denied 95% of the time to the decision maker.

    Advice to Management

Offer a base salary based on a minimum level of door knocks then good commission on sales. Stop being such a party hardy, glad hand, awards based, recognition company.
