    good company, not-so-good management

Systems Analyst (Former Employee) Santa Clara, CA

ProsAgilent Technologies is a large company that offers a lot of benefits to its employees including stock options, great healthcare package, and bonuses.

ConsA lot of processes at Agilent are not efficient and need to be improved but the existing infrastructure makes it difficult for change to be propagated. Also the fact that it's split into 2 divisions creates unique challenges from a reporting perspective.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake time to get to know your employees.

Slow steady pace, if you can keep it.

Senior Software Engineer (Former Employee) Santa Rosa, CA

ProsSlow pace, you can relax a lot if you're a software engineer.
You can have great work & life balance.

ConsSo many people are older than you.
Do not be ambitious. It will not fit the culture.
If you stay there for too long time, you cannot move to any other good places.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere so many good talents wasted here.

    Good company over-all.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Santa Rosa, CA

ProsVery good benefits, compensation and work-life balance objectives. Senior management strives for improvement and brings much value to the over-all company as a whole. Good leadership and very proactive in the community.

ConsCareer advancement can be limiting from within, depending on politics. Mostly great people to work with, although there are those, as in most any company that stand-out in not-so-great ways.

Good communication from management to employees.
    Vast intellectually challenging opportunities
High flexibility in deciding works schedule.

    It's a good company.

Lead Technician (Current Employee) Irvine, CA

ProsI have enjoyed working for Agilent over the past 12+ years. You can pretty much make your career what you want it to be with hard work and dedication. I feel good about my future in the company and believe that I can continue to advance my career.

ConsCompany is to focused on stock price and there is little to show for it in this market we live in. The old timers should be retiring and not being lifers. I mean working into late 60's and 70's. Healthcare choices are to expensive.

Advice to Senior ManagementWork on the cons.
