I have been working at Akamai full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Above the average benefit. Unlimited PTO as long as your manager approves. Great work-life balance. Great company outlook. Smart people to work with.

    Cons

Collaboration between different teams is sometimes difficult. Not the best perks for continuing education (~$5000 per year). Company does not get much mass reputation because it's been very low-key in this industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep your good work. Tom Leighton as the CEO has been really awesome.

I have been working at Akamai full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Smart people, excellent compensation packages, flexible work hours and locations, competent management that know what they are doing, and how to grow the company, lots of career growth opportunity.

    Cons

Product development moves slow. Product groups operate in silos, and should be forced to work together. Process to define sales quotas needs to be reviewed/fixed. Pricing and product structure needs an overhaul. Not all offices are the same (The SF office is WAY nicer than some of the others, like NYC).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pointed in the right direction, so keep doing what you are doing!

I have been working at Akamai full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    --Fantastic benefits package.
--Room for career development and advancement.
--Very casual atmosphere for a $1B+ company.
--Employees are treated fairly and honestly.

Akamai promoted the position I applied for before they even sent me a job offer, based on my experience and education. In less than a year, I've received two salary increases and a bonus far larger than my contract stated, all because they are very happy with the work I'm doing. If you work hard and excel at your tasks, Akamai isn't shy to show you that they appreciate it!

    Cons

--Literally no cons about this job thus far.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep being awesome.

I have been working at Akamai full-time

    Pros

Akamai is a great place to work filled with extremely smart and dedicated employees. There is good career opportunities in most roles.

    Cons

Akamai had to invent all of the tools required to build a distributed cloud infrastructure, but it hasn't attempted to move to modern open-source alternatives. As a result it can be difficult for new employees to get up to speed.
