Inefficient, low quality deliverables, no long-term career plan or opportunities

Senior Engineer (Current Employee) Oslo (Norway)

ProsWorking for the Engineering devision (AET)
Good balance between work and private life. You decide when to come and go. No questions asked, but many abuse the system by working less than the minimum hours.
Really good engineers, although many good and experienced people left the company in the past 4 years.

ConsI work with Engineering Management and I experience a total lack of structure in their work methods. There are no standard procedures, no quality control and no consequences for poor performance.
Management positions are based on how long you've been in the company, not your skills or leadership abilities.
    No training opportunities.
Too many people with very little to do or doing the same tasks; inefficient. A few with too much to do and too much pressure. So much so that good engineers choose to leave (rates in Norway are currently not competitive).

Advice to Senior ManagementMove people around to where they are needed; don't waste talent with copy-paste.
Want to cut costs? Simple: get rid of people who do little or nothing. Make sure all are occupied with relevant tasks and stop reduntant work.
