I have been working at Alamo Rent A Car full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Everyone was nice and the job was very interesting.

    Cons

I would have stayed with the company if they had not moved

    Advice to Management

Listen to what your employees have to say like you would like the employee to listen to what you have to say.

    Pros

I experienced group cooperation between co-workers and supervisory staff members during the time I worked for this company. They, the company, had a very thorough training pro-
gram, from which I learned a great deal about the rental car business.

    Cons

Did not experience any negativity during my tenure at Alamo. I found their rules, regulations and work policies were very fair and respected and accepted, in my opniion, by the other em-
    ployees.

    Advice to Management

Since it has been a while since I have worked there, I believe they must be doing the pro-
per things in order to remain in business.

    Pros

Excellent Pay and Benefits Package. The company is owned by Enterprise Holdings, which owns Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Rent-A-Car, and Alamo Rent-A-Car. I work at an Airport location which is very dependent on tourism. The summer season is spectacular for payout, and the winter season, though slower, is still much better than similar jobs.

    Cons

As a rental agent at Alamo or National, advancement opportunities are a little tricky. Management positions are filled by Enterprise employees. In order to be promoted from a Rental Agent, one would have to become an Enterprise Management Trainee, (which is essentially a rental agent) and then work through promotions on that side of the company. That aside, there are no real problems with this company.
