Great people that never get anything done.

    IT Intern (Former Employee)
    Calgary, AB (Canada)

ProsAmazing people come to work at AHS, the pay is fantastic. They're generally very flexible.

ConsThe only problem is nothing ever gets done. Projects and ideas get stalled because of politics both internal and external.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind out what is keeping the great ideas that are floating around from becoming reality. Why do people that love the industry hate the company?

    Overrated

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Calgary, AB (Canada)

ProsFlexible, above average wage and well known

    ConsManagement is weak, seniority based

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement must hire outside of the company, people should not always be hired internally. I would also like to see more opportunities for growth. My department managers is not qualified in the field, their education is limited and does not match the qualification that a manager should have in this particular department.

Good overall. Until a month ago it was a 4/5 now it is a 3/5. I am in IT.

    IT CHANGE MANAGER (Current Employee)

ProsGood pay, good benefits. Lots of opportunities to learn and to advance. Management in IT is friendly and relatively good.

ConsWe keep losing leaders which is messing with IT. Often the rest of AHS does not consider IT to be important and because of that we are often given last consideration. An example of this is that we are being moved down south to a new location; we were given 2 weeks notice, there is no parking for us, and no off hours access. Projects in AHS are disorganized exactly like this.

Advice to Senior ManagementAHS in general needs to realize that they cannot do their work if IT cannot do theirs. Please respect us more.

New project managers; most of the current PM's need to go back to school as they fumble even the most simple of projects.

    Edmonton, AB (Canada)

ProsGreat benefits and a good work life balance if you choose to utilize

ConsThe corporation is so entwined in policies that it creates processes that make it impossible to do anything in a timely manner

Advice to Senior ManagementBefore making policy and process changes either educate your front line staff or better talk to them about the changes your are implmenting.
