    Pros

The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable. Coworkers are easy to get along with. Seniors are ready to teach and advise as needed.

    Cons

The department is small. If you are looking for growth within the department, it may take some time. But there is a lot to learn.

    Pros

    -Flexible hours (great work/life balance)
    -Decent compensation
-Good Benefits (medical, vision, dental, 401k match, ESPP)

    Cons

    -Lack of Individual Growth Strategy

    Advice to Management

Better communication with lower level employees about the vision and strategy of the company. More focus on individual growth and career progression.

    Pros

The company has improved the focus of its operation since Namal Nawana took over. Improvements include focus on quality product delivery, focused (but still under resourced) R&D projects, and focused company vision.

    Cons

R&D is under resourced to maintain competitive advantages. Opportunities for employee growth is stagnant. There is little support for technical development, which is shame for a technology company.

    Advice to Management

R&D is under resourced to support new product development. Without growth opportunities, few are incentivized to stay. Hopefully things will improve as existing product improvements take place.

    Pros

Lots of opportunity to try and make a difference in this company. There is a lot to do, especially from a non-commercial point of view. Attire is casual, and colleagues are friendly.

    Cons

Company is still transitioning toward unifying and standardizing many processes. A result of numerous acquisitions in the last decade. Corporate office is relatively small and is still developing a sense of culture and esprit de corps.

    Advice to Management

Keep on pushing OneAlere. Good job leading through the transition period after the former CEO left, but there is more work to do.

    Pros

Compensation, Benefits, Challenges, Empowerment, making a difference

    Cons

Change and uncertainty, but only if you can't handle it (change is good, we are told)

    Advice to Management

Clear company direction, One Alere is a good start but a long way to go, 2 priorities are Shareholders and Customer / Patient.......but who makes this happen? your employees of course.
HR and Engineering has been imported through nepotism in San Diego, jobs for the boys, but how can this be justified? can green cards be bought??

    Pros

The complex case management model is effective and makes a difference in patient outcomes. Very flexible work environment.

    Cons

Isolation in a remote work environment is a big concern. My CM team leaders did not promote collaboration amongst team members to increase moral. Benefit options decreased and are very expensive. Salary range is at the very low end of industry standards.

    Advice to Management

Reward the loyal high performers. Acknowledge staff when they receive positive feedback from clients and patients.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Have a lot of autonomy. No one looking over my shoulder. Really good products.

    Cons

Always waiting for a lay off. No R&D leadership which has resulted in no organic growth. Very little experience in R&D. Operations does not look past today. Ops is very reactive without any plan for even the near future like next month.

    Advice to Management

Get into some detail and replace the less competent with management that know their subjects or have experience. Too many leading that don't know how to lead.
