    Pros

Great to work at a highly respected firm, successful in the market, growing smartly. You get to work on great projects that "Really Matter" (firm mantra) to clients.

    Cons

Leadership is in evolution and teh firm is growing, there are growing pains in certain areas. But, leadership seems aware and is constantly communicating about programs underway.

I have been working at AlixPartners

    Pros

Work with some of the best people on exciting and challenging projects. Everyone is smart and hard-working. I have enjoyed working here every day.

    Cons

It can be difficult sometimes to bat with the best. Also, it is pretty siloed, you have to put a lot of effort into making connections with people in other groups.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More work events would be nice. Could use the time to build connections with people in other communities.

I worked at AlixPartners full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. Very interesting and important project work for companies everyone has heard of
    2. An incredibly high level of engagement with the work, you, as a consultant are tasked to do -- the ability to lead and prove yourself at a very meritocratic firm
    3. Vast amounts of autonomy (could be a con for some)
    4. Incredible colleagues and a true collegial atmosphere -- many of them are THE experts in their fields
    5. Above market pay

    Cons

    1. AlixPartners-y-ness: Culturally, either you will fit here or you won't -- there is little middle ground
    2. The interview process is difficult, especially with the psychometric tests that are administered (this isn't necessarily a purely negative thing but does make recruitment hard)
    3. Firm growth has accelerated over the past year with AlixPartners' acquisition by CVC... too much too soon may be bad for the culture
    4. Poor knowledge management... although it is getting better

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You're doing most things right -- make sure to groom the next wave of leadership from within as it will be superior to bringing in MD's from the outside in the long run given AlixPartners' unique culture

I have been working at AlixPartners full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay is good, plenty of development opportunities, and the people are better than you'll find in most organizations. Benefits are also great compared to many professional service firms.

    Cons

It can be difficult to achieve work-life balance, and working project-to-project leaves the future chronically uncertain, both from a scheduling perspective and from an am-I-still-valuable perspective.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide the most accurate and updated information available to employees, as appropriate.
