Good, however geared more towards soon to be retirees

    IT Solution Engineer (Current Employee)
    Novato, CA

ProsFlexible hours, good work-life balance, great for individuals with families, good 401(k) match - the best I received from anywhere else, telecommute, low pressure, onsite gym,

ConsNot great for single individuals because the benefits are more crafted for individuals with families, heavily outsourced, minimal learning opportunities, process heavy, compensation not competitive with market, lack of fresh ideas

Was a very good experience, unfortunately had some management with other agenda that kept truth from other offices.

    Account Technician (Former Employee)
    Dallas, TX

ProsFlexible shifts, good pay, good benefits.

ConsManagement promotions based not on performance or experience.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou consolidated, yet stuck with lease on empty floor space, the closed center had best record for processing and time and many are still out of work due to your closure. We were lied to over and over even when asked directly about the future of our positions. You had the most experienced, dedicated staff in the closed center.

    Account Technician (Current Employee)
    Chicago, IL

    Pros-Great Benefits
    -People make the company
    -Good work/life balence
    -Fair in their assessments

Cons-Hard to move / Constant hiring freezes
-Strict budgets lead to cut backs
    -Leadership unwilling to listen
-Pay not a good as it could be

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to what your workers have to say and deliver when you say you will. Better explanations with company direction. Invest in IT infrastructure to make workers more productive.

    Great Company, Department needs improvement...

Annuity New Business Case Manager (Former Employee)
    Golden Valley, MN

ProsThe Company itself was great, great benefits, great cafeterias (choice of two), great training and self improvement opportunities.

ConsThe particular department I was in or the company, I'm not sure which...promoted people without degrees because it was cheaper. Advanced degrees and outside the company work experience were not recognized for promotions. This may sound as if I was passed up for a promotion...but I wasn't I never applied for anything as nothing of interest to me was posted. Hiring is on the downward slide due to poor annuity business. In the 2 years I was there, I had 3 managers, none had previous management experience or degrees. This lead to poor management, immaturity and teams without direction.

Advice to Senior ManagementLess meetings and special projects for management so that they can address personnel issues and training. Don't delegate personnel issues to team members without the experience or education to mentor others. Hire project management specialists to run projects rather than management that should be managing employees and the department.

    Your run-of-the-mill corporate experience.

    Executive General Adjuster (Current Employee)
    Chicago, IL

ProsGood pay, decent benefits. Some fun people work here.

ConsProfit sharing and 401(k) matching are 0% vested until 3 years of service. Cubicle life for everyone without a senior manager title. Most cubicles have 1.5 walls and "0" privacy. IT systems are a complete joke. Restrictions on travel and other expenses are over the top.

Advice to Senior ManagementRespect your employees more. Invest in IT.

    Good place, but be wary

    Underwriter (Former Employee)
    Chicago, IL

    ProsGood comp & benefits package

ConsTerrible new HR team. The old HR regime was much better at representing employees to management. Huge politics between Germans and Americans. The Germans have taken over every aspect of the business.

Advice to Senior ManagementForget it...they will not listen anyway.

Good place to work, with little stress

    Senior Project Director (Former Employee)
    Cresskill, NJ

ProsSmall team, flexible schedule, decent salary, small number of clients.

ConsSmall team can also make it difficult to balance a heavy work load

Advice to Senior ManagementWould be nice to have had more clients to get a better range of work through the door.

    ??

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Minneapolis, MN

ProsAllianz SE is a great company trying to make presence in the US. I enjoy being a part of that. Allianz Life needs a lot of work, but I believe it's headed in the write direction. It could be an exciting time for the company.

ConsLack of technology. Allianz Life is way behind the times in technology and it inhibits growth.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest more money in technology and hiring top talent.

    Great people

    Team Leader (Former Employee)

ProsFriendly people. Excellent support for professional qualifications. Business is growing and respected in the Insurance market. Good benefits package. Great charity supporters.

ConsWork life balance suffers enormously as you are promoted.. Heavy reliance on a few experts means there are huge bottle necks. Providing opportunities for the graduate intake limits career choices for others and often also often results in inexperienced managers who require huge support from their teams which goes unrecognised as they need to hide that others are doing their job.

Advice to Senior ManagementChange the bonus system. Stop relying on external systems that do not deliver what you need, require huge investment to change anything, cause rework and frustrate the employees. Really look at your people, a lot of talent is unrecognised.

    Worth serving the company

    Midlevel (Current Employee)

ProsSupportive and good support from peers

    Constransparency of work/news is worst

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep the information delegated to the team underneath at regular intervals, especially interms of tough times.
