I worked at Allscripts as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

Friendly work environment. Strong focus on back-office process simplification and enterprise systems consolidation. Good cross-functional collaboration. Willingness to let experts help with business transformation and strategic program execution.

    Cons

Need more focus on customer service, product support & product defect resolution.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put the greater good of the company before personal agendas. Aggressively address the primary root causes of customer dissatisfaction.

I worked at Allscripts full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The employees are great for the most part. They hang out after work and really are like a family.

    Cons

Management changes every six months...Management will put some new initiative into place and 6 months later it's something else. They won't fix the software. People aren't the problem. The software is. If you fix the software...guess what...people don't call in to complain....SHOCKING!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to those NOT in management. They have been there longer than you and can actually save you a ton of money and energy if you just listen.

I have been working at Allscripts full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Salaries are competitive.
    Work/life balance is good.
    Benefits are fair.

    Cons

Over the last few years they have been tightening the budget.. some salaries have been affected and some company perks are no longer.
Health benefits get worse every year.. we pay more for less and less coverage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to find a way to grow the business. We are feeding off a client base that is slowly moving to competitors.

I have been working at Allscripts full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Allows working from home. Good quality co-workers. Starting pay is very good. My direct manager is the best manager I have ever had. PTO is given in one lump sum upon starting and on Jan 1 of each year and you do not have to wait for accrual to take PTO. Overall very happy with benefits.

    Cons

Pay raises are not all that great. Medical benefits cost has gone up. Big company but still has weird policies from the smaller company that it started out as.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Starting salary is good, wish you would have better raises for good employees.

I have been working at Allscripts full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

There is significant sales opportunity from within the client base to sell existing and new features.

    Cons

The company has client satisfaction issues related to implementation and functional issues with its partners due to its varied software client base. Too much politics and internal 'clubs' hindering success.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider the point of view and advice of your long term employees to drive change given the legacy client base it affects.
