I worked at Allscripts as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Great experience. I enjoyed the way that everything played out for my summer internship. Had the needed things to get me through, and if I didnt I had a contact who would figure things out for me. Have to do a presentation at the end, but as long as you didn't slack all the way through your summer it isn't too hard.

    Cons

Only worked three days a week, but that's not allscripts fault that was my employers decision. A few of the seminars that I attended seemed a little dry, but were still informative and worth seeing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the summer internship program going! It is a good opportunity to get allscripts name out there

I worked at Allscripts full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Treated well by Allscripts employees and management despite contractor status. Allscripts often hires contractors for permanent positions. Lots of training material available.

    Cons

While a contractor status, Allscripts can not provided extra hardware equipment such as headsets, 2nd monitor, etc. But as soon as one becomes permanent the extra hardware flows.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rethink policy of not providing extra monitors to contractors - the extra screen makes one much more efficient.

I have been working at Allscripts full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good Life/work balance, professional environment, learning opportunities, benefits, and great management. I worked for Eclipsys back in 2008 and 2009, got laid off them and back again almost two years ago. I cannot ask for anything better than being back again. I missed these guys so much!

    Cons

I cannot find anything to say here, at this moment. When there are some negative comments about the management team, I can say I am a very lucky guy. My Manager is awesome and I will work for him at anytime, anywhere. Dennis McIntyre, you rock.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good job.

I have been working at Allscripts full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great location and wonderful, interesting projects for a QA person.

    Cons

A junior QA person would struggle with the complexity and demands. The offshore model needs to be updated as too much work is on the U.S. team at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work to keep the seasoned talent from leaving the company - we've lost too many good people. Make bonuses a guarantee for certain positions and grades. Stop allowing people who worked at the original "ECIN" company to come and go like the company is a revolving door.
