Good coworkers, good for those NOT looking to advance in their careers

    Cons

Complete chaos, poor product, company does not care about employees, college hire program is only for tax cut purposes (most are being let go before their one year mark)

Do not hire for positions that are not permanent

    Pros

There hasn't been a pro about this company in a very long time. Benefits are somewhat nice.

    Cons

Over worked. Layoffs constantly. No on-call pay. Upper Management has no direction. Unless moving everything to India is a direction.

    Cons

    No positive Feedback
    Micro Management
    No team work

    No opportunity for advancement
    No Support

    Advice to Management

The same focus you place on cutting corners, and saving $1 should be placed on customer service for employees and customers. Now, I understand why so many customers were no unhappy and feel misled. Also, you should keep good, hard working employees instead of favoring those who befriend you and your colleagues.

    Pros

Good location in Raleigh, near many places to eat. I had amazing peers and the loyal clients we worked with were really great.

    Cons

I worked for Allscripts for several years. I saw the culture and business practices devolve greatly. The client is secondary and that's not how it was years ago. They went through a string of executives over the years, all of whom came in wanting to make significant change. They hired executives and senior management who were not people focused. They often had layoffs focused on position eliminations vs. getting rid of low performers. Because of this we were often left with knowledge gaps and people who were not performing. I often received complaints directly from clients as well. If you are looking for career advancement it is hit or miss at Allscripts, but mostly miss and dependent on who you know and who likes you. We were not allowed or encouraged to get outside or industry training that was needed to maintain our skills. When I first started it was truly a great place to work. However, the loss of committed executives who were focused on improving Healthcare and taking care of our clients and their patients changed that completely and made Allscripts a miserable place to work.

    Advice to Management

Care about the employees and the clients.

    Pros

Decent salary, can work from home/remote office, ability to self manage

    Cons

Not viewed as a solid choice to partner with from healthcare organizations and hospital leaders. Did not innovate during meaningful use and lost customer focus. Sales organization is disorganized with a lack of a single company strategy and leader. Are losing clients, especially hospital clients. Grew quickly through acquisition and never integrated acquired solutions nor were the company cultures integrated.

    Advice to Management

Need to reduce middle management and streamline internal operations. Should fix internal systems such as Oracle and Salesforce.com to make them work for the employees that must use them. Both are great products but were implemented very poorly at Allscripts.
