    Pros

Awesome people to work with. Good amount of vacation days given and somewhat of a decent salary.

    Cons

Company lost direction by outsourcing overseas and buying other companies. Got way too big and the clients suffered.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give more information to your employees on how the company is doing.

    Pros

They are flexible in terms of where you work, and the healthcare benefits are probably the best I've ever seen.

    Cons

No bonus potential for most employees. Also the internal processes of the company are very poor. The company has grown via acquisition, so there are two answers for any question you ask...there's no one version of the truth. There also doesn't seem to be a willingness by management to fix this issue

    Pros

Cutting edge of healthcare technology. Fast paced environment, Great if you like a challenge

    Cons

Reorganization left me feeling like the odd man out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

After the re-org of the services/EEHR Upgrades team I ended up on a team with a manager who didn't really acknowledge me. I was a remote employee and my hiring manager was given another team, I felt like I was less part of the upgrades team after the re-org. In a little less then one year under my new manager i had two 1 on 1 meetings with him and one was my yearly review.

A company that grew too fast (with mergers and acquisitions), tons of red tape, not sure it will survive

I worked at Allscripts full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Former pros - it was a fun place to work, great education, good benefits.

    Cons

Stop outsourcing!!!! It's a huge customer complaint - they cannot understand the various ethnicities, they feel like the support people are talking from a script and ultimately don't get resolution to their problem. Inability to use vacation time without real down time (if any at all), zero work / life balance, too many people paid for doing absolutely nothing, evident when customers don't even get a simple call back, far too much red tape and time consuming processes, the company ends up wasting valuable time to high salaried employees to go through the steps of processes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop putting bandaids on every problem and start fixing them rather than putting a different spin on your messages to employees. Allscripts has a much valued product but you will continue to lose many customers based on the lack of support - sooner or later, you are going to run out of new customers to replace those that got fed up.

Great learning opportunity to have an impact in health tech, but poorly organized and disordered matrix in evaluations.

I worked at Allscripts full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Employees at the company look out for each other, and are usually very helpful to help each other in difficult client facing situations, and to learn more about relevant corporate/ product/ industry information.

    Cons

The products had weaknesses at times, and management/ developers did not incorporate the weaknesses as implementation/ smaller clients communicated potential improvements. Unless a big client demands, products did not look too strong (and front line employee had to face the customer frustration.)

The company also based evaluations on utilization, and assigned , thus implementation team members could not themselves affect the utilization matrix.

    Pros

Monthly Birthday celebrations. Causal attire. Not micro-managed. Laid back environment. Work from home, if need be.

    Cons

Not enough adequate training for the complex products for support personnel. We learn the product as the cases come in. You cannot determine your own workload, meaning cases are assigned to you randomly, no matter if you are already struggling on 10+ cases, you must troubleshoot and resolve the cases assigned to you.
