    Pros

the job over all was not the worst over all the company had allot of growing to do with leaders and supervisors. the management was not bad at times i wondered if they knew what they were doing or what was going on. the environment was good, happy, and comfortable to go to every day. there was a major change in practice after the buy out weeding out allot of the over all hiccups in the company I’m happy as an employee. feel there should have been changes made prior to buy out.

    Cons

favoritism lack of knowledge for the people that are in leading positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

work on the ethhics of the company leaders to show employers what a manager should do

    Pros

Employees receive a free cell phone and free basic monthly service. You have set schedules in the call center.

    Cons

The daily/weekly team recap of stats and posting on the board like its kindergarten. The one 4 min discretionary break. It's very easy to get burnt out if you work in the call center. I lasted only a few months there. Of course I never intended to make a career out of it. It was good work while in college, but it's call after call. Often lots and lots of calls in queue, you can barely catch a breath between calls. Turnover seems high and I bet its due to this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow your call center employees some breathing time. I know they are there to take calls, but it burns you out fast. They should allow employees to have a rotational schedule between the admin work and the call center work.

I have been working at Alltel

    Pros

decent place to start, complimentary service for family, pay well for entry level, health benefits exceed those of many other companies, if you can be at the right place at the right time then you can move up. doesn't require massive education to sell phones but the commission is your primary source of revenue, caps for sales are very high, vacation benefits are pretty solid for entry level, merger with att should be helpful for sales in these markets existing in fairly isolated areas. improving network capacity all the time, no data caps like some other providers, clear billing issues

    Cons

decent place to start, do not recognize time of service seem to focus on current trends even though policies have not been updated to reflect this. more likely to hear about company changes in media than from your superiors expect to move slowly, supervisors must approve all moves before moving on regardless, hr does not forward anything on unless your direct supervisor gives the ok, long hours are the norm, constant micromanagement about petty things out of your control, many back office responsibilities that do not help your commission, heavy favoritism by management towards drones but hey this is corporate america

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

communicate to all levels first, not after information is widely misinterpreted

    Pros

Great Pay, you can create your own success if you work hard enough and build lasting relationships

    Cons

No wiggle room from Black and White. As in any corporation, your upper management group are so focused on what will get them ahead or prevent them from loosing their job, they are more willing to play it safe for thei career than to take a chance and go agains the tide. Those leaders don't always do the right thing because they are looking out for number 1 rather than the overall good of the employees who work so hard for them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

DEpends on what level of management I believe that executive management in LIttle Rock does a phenominal job, however the middle management from regional and president of retail management need to be more willing to take a risk and do what is right. Too many people walk around scared of loosing their job and act based on that fear rather than the ability to grow the business

I have been working at Alltel

    Pros

the benefits and the pay are wonderful. I had a job before this and did not pay me that much. When I went to Alltel they had a wonderful pay structure and also aid in the employees to further their education. Not only that Alltel has a wonderful structure on how they organize and put together their compensation plan for the employees so I can not complain about that all. Alltel can be flexible in giving time off if the manager finds it fit and according to the time of the year other then that if its around the holiday season you can forget about getting time off.

    Cons

the management team can improve and also investigate the market more before just putting sales goals out there. I believe that management team can be working together and communicate a lot better where all the stores would be at the same level and operate the same way where as the stores function, it just needs more organization and the call centers need to get together with the store level employees cause we have customers come into the store sometimes and they tell them one thing after we tell them another thing and its noted on the customers account yet they overule the decision on the phone where we physically see the phone and customer service couldn't

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just get together and study the current market siutation
