I have been working at Amazon.com

    Pros

    vibrant, fast paced culture
    - smart, fun, aggressive colleagues
    - management is focused on latest tech trends and staying or becoming a leader for many of them
    - by and large, customers and partners are very positive about the technology
    - good benefits and perqs

    Cons

Worse still is the politics. When you hire a bunch of smart, aggressive people, and put them in an environment of outsized expectations, throw in a bunch of re-orgs and changing management, and sprinkle with uncertainty and constantly changing priorities, you inevitably get people back stabbing each other and throwing others under the bus to appear smarter and more worthy of promotion.

    Pros

    Self directed work.
You get out what you put in.
Fun and varying tasks of all types.
    Great interface for tracking earnings.
    Fantastic social forum community.
Tons of add-ons and resources available for more effective earnings.

    Cons

Work can be sparse on weekends.
Averages around 10 cents per minute or 6 dollars an hour unless you know the tricks.

    Advice to Management

Higher base pay would be excellent.

    Pros

No letting people down when you call off, call off anytime take vacation anytime, every quarter you get new unpaid days off and paid days off and vacation is on every check. 10 hour shifts. So much overtime voluntarily, unless it is peak season then some overtime is not voluntary. Simple jobs to do that can actually be fun and you meet tons and tons of new freindly people and even learn abot new products you wouldnt have otherwise even thought about. Pay raises every quarter of 60¢ up to $15/hour. Great benefits.

    Cons

Peak season (Nov-Jan 1st) would be one other the biggest problems, with not enough parking for all the new temps and employees that come in, I was late for work a couple of times just because of the massive traffic they had because of peak and it even takes 20 minutes or so to get into the facility and they didnt take my tardy off. Thats another thing if your late your late they take it out of your unpiad time off in incremints of 1 hour i think, but if you clock in 20 minites late but it takes an hour off your unpaid time, you will still get paid that hour from the pointyou clocked in. If you run out of unpaid time off you get fired.

    Advice to Management

Give people a little slack, especially during peak season and slow the rate people need to meet just maybe down by 100.

    Pros

I really enjoyed their training- it was hands-on, and was created with retention in mind, using a number of different educational approaches meant to work for all learning styles. They had great support for their CSAs, including great trainers and supervisors, excellent online tools, chat programs and online tutorials.

    Cons

    Amazon's positions are seasonal.

    Advice to Management

Keep people a little longer so that they can build on what they know and become better agents.
