I have been working at Amazon.com full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    - The company operates in a very decentralized way, so there are many opportunities to grow and learn.
    - The company does cool stuff and growth is very fast. High potential to try out other roles if you stay long enough.
    - Amazon is all about the customer, and you get to affect millions of lives.
    - Amazon lets you rotate throughout the company, making learning opportunities easy to come by.

    Cons

    - Long work hours, and challenging work with tight deadlines, and deadly consequences if they are not met.
    - High turnover, for that reason, I've seen a 10% turnover in the past half year in my group alone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give employees more training in the beginning, and more management support.

I have been working at Amazon.com full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Pay for hourly associates is fair, and the insurance is good. The work is easy as long as you are motivated to work with opportunities to increase your experience with technical aspects of the job.

    Cons

The hours can be difficult to manage with having a personal life. Hourly associates hit a pay cap after 3 years of employment, unless you get a promotion. It then resets and you have another 3 years before you cap out.

    Pros

Easy Job, breaks every 2 hours, short shifts, overall great jobs and good hours, plenty of overtime if you want it. Site manager is great.

    Cons

Lower Management can be petty, a lot of separation between part time and full-time employees.

    I worked at Amazon.com full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I was proud to say that I worked for Amazon. The reputation of company is well earned. I was afforded travel and business opportunities that I had never had. The company has a fun and carefree culture but is also very metric driven. I learned a lot more about the business world; a pleasant surprise.

    Cons

Crazy work schedule. Wasn't a good work like balance. Not the type of human resources work I wanted to do. The company was growing so fast it was hard to keep up with the constant, almost daily changes.
