I have been working at Amdocs full-time for more than a year

ProsBig company, nice food. Hires ppl without any experience and gives them first opportunity. Benefits such as company car and others.

Conshard boring work.. too many working hours on dumb things. Projects are being managed week by week without any thoughts about how much a person can handle. projects are being developed across half the glob, that creates many problems.

ProsInternational company with variety of work opportunities all around the world(same work in different places), many good people (in the wrong positions) working with variety of peoples and cultures.

ConsVery bad management in declining market(complicated phone bills) together with culture of a system integrator company and very low thinking flexibility and disrespect of employee private life with a very shaky job security,very low technology and poor quality of products..

ConsNo work life balance
If you are in India, you can get promotions fast even if you are not good
Onshore is all about profitability. They will put 100 people to do a job with bad quality just because they did not put 10 people at the right time to do it right the first time
Some managers & directors are real jerks. If you are n Israeli, you have better chance of survival & an easy life

+ Free Perks

Cons+No work -life balance (Not good for person with family)
+Have attended many a times graveyard shift
+Managers are just experienced managers(just because they have 8-10 yrs of work ex ) and they have really bad at management

Not a good company to start career

+ onsite chance

Cons-No work life balance
-No quality management (Most of the managers are non-competative,they just have useless experience of 8-9-10 yrs)
-Management and HR need to understand that if they hiring people from good institutes(like NITs and others) they should not be treated just like others and give them some responsible work (instead of testing ,infra ) like dev or designing otherwise it would be waste of talent and a career.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed a lot of improvements.Amdocs is no longer the same old one.

Amdocs is a good place to work for political people and not for the people who are technically good and smart .

ProsThe company has relocation opportunities. Learning opportunities in telecom business. Since Amdocs is world leader in Telecom Billing Products than it's good to have latest business knowledge. Freedom to wear informal.

ConsSince cutting edge technical knowledge is something which is missing in Amdocs in India Center, so working in Amdocs can't land you in anywhere but Amdocs. There has been greedy managers who only thinks about themselves they take SME, SSME and GLs as a slave. They don't give recognition to employees who shows innovation, creativity, team playing and delivery qualities. They only look for who is more visible, conforming to them (actually just showing but doing nothing) and politically good candidates. The company looks like me as in Indian Democracy where there is no place for the smart and hardworking people and only politics and Political people are getting benefits. I have personally saw many instances where political candidates got the promotions and good hardworking guys were asked to leave because they wanted to get some good work and better treatment. The bad people are like a cancer cells and it's actually eating Amdocs. It;s has spread Amdocs badly and 80% of Amdocs is filled with it. Amdocs India, failed to deliver some important projects because of these recently.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease give importance to Good and Hardworking people. There are guys who works hard, works late hours and come in weekends and you don't give them anything. You give promotions to people who do flattering. Please stop it. Please give the compensation to the people in proportions of their hard work to fetch the revenue. Please give at least 50% more salary to the key people so that they don't get frustrated when they compare the ratio of money vs contribution. Don't choose a good people from the prestigious institutes e.g NIT/REC etc.. and put him in Infra, Triage, Testing etc. teams. Good candidates deserve to be in scoping, designing. Please create a different team for the scoping and designing, and get the regular donkey work to be performed by avg and below avg people you can hire non engineering candidates for them. Please don't do the politics, at town hall you say we care and at the behind you say to come on weekends. Please take care of your best employees else there will be a day when a good and strong manager would have to be forced to clean you all to save Amdocs India. But what's the use of saying all that you don't have even basis IQ as you are the part of cancer affected bad cells.

ProsIf you need a one time high increment, yes, then you can change your company and join Amdocs. Here too, you will get free snacks and breakfast.

ConsThis is the worst company I ever found in my career.
If there is no work, they simply fire the candidate. There is no bench system.
I joined just 3 months back and now they asked me to leave company as there is no project and look a job outside.
There is also another guy who worked for more than 4 years on Billings and now he is also getting fired. They is no values for the resources in Amdocs.
There is lot of projects now freezed. They hire the guy but don't know where to put and they simply fire them.
My request is don't join this company for money.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you don't have project, why do you hire candidates like me?
Don't play with careers of people. You don't care of the people who work in Amdocs.

Not a good company, spy every where

Proscompany is cash rich, in problems try to win using money power only.

ConsThey have very bad system of ratings, all is match fix, they decide without reading the claim put by employee, they have spy(HRC) every where for higher management and our VP/directors listen to HRC more as compare to Managers. Really a bad company for Managers to work.

Advice to Senior Managementplease remove these HRC concepts, these ladies are acting as personal assistants to VP/directors.
while employee evaluation these ladies has more voice as compare to respective managers.
Try to create more transparent system,
Please work towards employee care in true sense,

ProsYou get some benefits, you get to stay in a good vacation place in Cyprus, but on the first major braking of your priciples, start seeking a new job (your skills and thinking and common sense, etc will be broken a thousand times more again and again).

ConsThe worst managers ever, no managerial preparations; intercultural issues (for example working style enforces others to make longer, useless working hours without any real gains to the project), checklist management style (do it in anyway but check it done)
Unproforssional profitors are encouraged in amdocs, expect that in most cases a non-technical manager will take the worst, techincal decisions.
Do not trust anyone, do not expect any trust or profesional respect.
Salary is average and will actually prove insignifiant for the demands you will get (when you realize this you went to far, quit fast).

Advice to Senior ManagementLear to trust, Shut up more, listen more, technical decisions are to be taken solely by technical people, stop the steel factory work style, stop commanding and start sharing.
All managers should have real business school preparations, a software developer hibernating 5 years in a company does not grow managerial skills.
