    Limited Options

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsFree parking, spacious cubes, excellent work personal life balance (often overtime is compensated by additional days off)

ConsRegardless of how well you perform, raises are nonexistent (even for cost of living). Promotions rarely exist and usually only after one threatens to quit. Organization is quite disorganized and doesn't work well as a team. Not the ideal workplace for top talent

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest in talent (promotions and pay increases). Ensure all teams are working to the same goal. Remove the hierarchy issues

    Not fun anymore.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsCan't even remember one good point.

    Cons- no innovation at all
    - same old software and business.
    - don't expect to get promoted if you are sincere and hardworking but not political
    - too much politics
    - all the great employees left

Advice to Senior Management- pay some attention to employee retention
    - pay the employees at par with the market.
    - explore new business domains.
    - improve employee morale.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Dismal place to work. Only work for them if there are no other options.

Development Manager (Former Employee) Charlotte, NC

ProsBenefits: on par with most corporations. Healthcare is reasonably priced and plan selection is good.

Cons1. Very poor HR policies. Amdocs has a policy that there must be poor ratings given to some percentage of the employee base deserved or not.
    2. When Amdocs bought the company I was working for the first thing they did was give senior management stay bonuses. Then everyone on the management team was demoted one level down.
    3. The first thing Amdocs said after the acquisition was 'These people make too much money can't wait till we can take care of that'.

    Excellent people, horrible management

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsCoworkers that are willing to work themselves to death to deliver, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Decent salary and benefits

ConsHelpful coworkers do not extend to management or HR. No work/life balance. No growth plans. yearly reviews turn into high school popularity contest if you're even lucky. Most times promotion will depend on your last name.

Advice to Senior ManagementNot going to even waste my time.

So much hope. So little actual good

Senior Consultant (Current Employee) Dallas, TX

ProsPay is ok, Health benefits are good. Offices can be nice as fac staff there is trying to make improvements.

ConsProjects with insane timelines to keep clients happy. Amdocs delivers alright, over the bodies of it's staff.

You can move up if you are Israeli. Otherwise, just wait in the back of the bus, for a longtime. Promotions, bonus, raises, etc go to the Israeli first, and everyone else third no matter how good you are.

The same goes for your role or job duties, you end up doing the crummy work while any good roles will be given to Israeli brought over either from within the company or a friend hired on from outside. The amount of protectionism is really sad.

HR dept is a mess, every year the process is changed and you have little to know idea what you will be graded on. Management feedback is nonexistent and you are left guessing if you are doing a good job or not. Once you get your grade from the annual review, it is to late to do anything about it and you are stuck with it for the year as there is no grievance process.

Advice to Senior ManagementValues program was a nice idea but appears to be nothing more than lip-service now. Give the staff a grievance process and STOP agreeing to these project timelines just kiss the client's rear end

Good place to work but not for growth

Programming Senior Subject Matter Expert (Former Employee) Dallas, TX

ProsGood culture, Amdocs is topmost player in its domain. Workplace is very competitive and good people around.

ConsYou can not grow much here specially if you are not Jewish, there is big favor for Jewish folks even if they are not as good as other people. They get promoted quickly and most of the managers are Jewish.

Amdocs concentrates only on telecom domain, so there are very few options outside Amdocs, some of the products and technology are only used in Amdocs so if you are stuck in those projects it will be very difficult to move out.

Very long work hours and you would be give work in out of proportion.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet some diversity in upper management. Some linguistic/accent training for managers from Israel, its very hard at time to understand what they say :) in important meetings.

    perfect for the "yesman"

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) San Jose, CA

Prosgenerous vacation allowance - better than most

    Cons- discourages independent thinking
    - process and hierarchy oriented
    - moves slowly

Advice to Senior Managementinnovation, growth, breakthroughs don't happen when you limit or discourage any creative, out-of-the-box thinking, or feel threatened explaining your decisions and practices.

    Average to Good

    SSME (Current Employee) Seattle, WA

    ProsFlexible schedule, ownership, view, breakfast

ConsWorking with Indians and Israelis at once can be tricky. Most of the folks lack any professionalism and civility. A lot of slackers. There are more people than work and people create non nonsensical work to fill time and justify position. Ex. In one team, there are 1 VP, 1 Director, 3 Managers, 4 leads, 1 developer, and 4 testers.

Advice to Senior ManagementSee who is actually getting the work done. Usually it's the one at the bottom. If you don't take care of the person doing the actual job within the timelines, you will never be able to retain good talent.
