    Pros

    Great Benefits, great co workers.

    Cons

Middle management in the Controllers group is cut throat and money hungry. Will dispose of anyone who gets in their way.

    Advice to Management

Clean house of supervisors and middle management.

    Pros

Benefits are good and so is pay. Very intelligent coworkers that help with the company's motto.

    Cons

No major cons really, well the hiring process is really long.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more minorities.

You will become a better lineman working for Ameren, but you won't be treated like one.

    Pros

Good money, good retirement, good benefits, get to go on a lot of storms

    Cons

Treated pretty poorly by higher ups, job siting sucks, always feel like they are trying to take something from you

    Advice to Management

Being proactive is good, but when you do it at the cost of morale when there is no mandated change coming that is just silly. If you would quit overreacting to singular situations and throwing blanket policies on those situations, then we may actually enjoy working for you.

    Pros

Salary is great with plenty of overtime. Benefits are great. Love coworkers (peers).

    Cons

Management indecisive. Not consistent with employees. No work/life balance. Only care about numbers.

    Advice to Management

If you want better employees learn to listen to the employees doing the job. Its easy to get on TV and say you care about people and their life but when the cameras are off you only care about money. In order to have better employees on the lower level you have to be willing to listen to what they are saying. Some suggestions are excellent and will help improve VPQ. Lower level employees are scared to speak there mind in fear of being on the chopping block.

    Pros

Stable jobs, nice people at the mid to lower levels.

    Cons

Senior management controlling and elitist. Company is very level conscious.

    Advice to Management

Step out of the box and be real thought leaders. It's the only way you will ever become an industry leading IOU.

The company pays very well and they have many opportunities available. They help with tuition reimbursement and offer great benefits.

    Cons

Advancement is like pulling teeth. Sometimes seems as if you have to know someone to get ahead.

    Advice to Management

    Stop the favoritism.

    Pros

Company Values, Co-workers, Salary, Benefits, leadership changes have made it a better more diverse and fair, place to work...enjoyed helping customers understand the company and their services. perks all the time, awesome work environment. parties food days...etc

    Cons

Work-Life balance, with forced Overtime, was hard to plan for family, social, or other events outside of normal work hours. There is very little room for promotion, you may get opportunities to be apart different team or aspects of customer service but upward mobility is very competitive

    Pros

Very good health benefits, compensation was good. Work life balance was great.

    Cons

Way too many layers of Management, Slow to change, Unwilling to take risks or be proactive.

    Advice to Management

There is a definite lack of willingness on the part of upper management to actually "manage" the business. Operating like an old utility will only get you so far. Too many times have I watched opportunities roll past due to indecision. To make matters worse there is no accountability for those bad decisions.
