I have been working at American Eagle Outfitters part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I love the discount, although it's a little too restrictive. Getting to work with some fun people and good clothes

    Cons

get ready to teach yourself. I haven't had a raise since I was hired. also while the discount is good, you can get a better one just about anywhere else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

communication is key. If you don't have some way to communicate through all levels of positions, you're failing somewhere. Consistency is something you can work on.

I have been working at American Eagle Outfitters

    Pros

    Amazing discount
Certain Supervisor will place you where youre most comfortable
    fun in store contest

    Cons

Outdated ways of scheduling (pick up in person, hard to swap shifts)
Too much focus on loyalty (hours cut due to not getting CC'S and reward cards)
Training is not consistent (I never got trained for anything, yet others received thorough training)
No communication among supervisors, leading to mis communication on the floor
more pay as we are the most hard working employees in retail
Favoritetism in the store (have one employee do all the work while another sits around and do nothing but chat to the manager about cats and dogs)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Great discounts , popular store , nice clothes , cool managers

    Cons

The Pay was wack and the hours were wack , I went weeks without being placed on the schedule and they hired new associate while I was begging for hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't hire people if your not going to put them on the clock

I have been working at American Eagle Outfitters

    Pros

Relaxed environment and decent work/life balance.

    Cons

Layoffs, little to no innovation, people quit left and right.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in people that make a difference to the company and not just merchants.

I worked at American Eagle Outfitters

    Pros

There are many great benefits of working at American Eagle, namely the employee discounts, the people, the atmosphere, the fashion.

    Cons

Nothing really major, it's your typical sales associate job. It does get a bit annoy when people destroy the clothing you finished folding two seconds ago though

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Personally my manager was great, however, I have heard horror stories about people at other stores who've had horrible experiences with management and nothing was done about it. I'd recommend better employee reviews

I worked at American Eagle Outfitters

    Pros

You will get a chance to meet cool people
Everyone is social and great at saling
The store many time offers free clothes aside from their already employee-only discounted clothes
    flexible hours

    Cons

They are crazy about meeting their goals which is great in many cases but bad when it's a slow day and your manager basically forces you to harass the few customers present into buying at least one item. 2-3 no's should be enough to stop bothering someone.
They fire people quickly if they aren't liked or fit in well with the group right away

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at American Eagle Outfitters

    Pros

Everyone was so goal oriented, friendly and tried their best to make you part of the team.

    Cons

Not enough hours, low pay, managers didn't train you enough & a lot of pressure to meet your segments goal/day goal.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a better training system for new employees.

I worked at American Eagle Outfitters part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The people working here are really friendly, a lot of training, you learn a lot about retail so it's good for a first time job.

    Cons

You always constantly have to be doing something. Even on the slow days, sometimes there is really nothing to do but my manager would yell at me if they caught me doing nothing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

At least pretend like you care about the associates, temporary (seasonal) or not. Some of the managers there didnt even care to look at me and when I was sent to them to be trained or placed in my position they would literally talk to another manager about random stuff and have me wait long amounts of time like I wasn't important enough to worry about.

I worked at American Eagle Outfitters part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good experience, working alone depending on store volume, pretty good pay, self-managing for the most part.

    Cons

Few hours need to cross train to get hours, stressful with other employees, unpredictable schedule, working alone(maybe). Less respected (sales are the favorite child)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate better with stock lead, communicate better with other employees to make the stock a respected position.
