Not always a place I want to be.

    Director (Current Employee) Boston, MA

ProsComp and benefits are above average. Lots of opportunities for employee to self educate due to an extensive development center. Very fast-paced environment with a lot of high talent and very personable people. Some teams really know how to promote from within and encourage employee development and career growth. Others don't.

ConsLeading by example is missing. Can't get time off. I mean, there is time off, but you can't enjoy it as no one disconnects. The downside of a fast-paced environment and a big missed opportunity to lead by example. They pay well but they extract their pound of flesh.

Advice to Senior ManagementReally listen to your employees and hear what they are and aren't saying. Figure out how to provide a solid work life balance before you start losing talent.

Bureaucratic, division of labor makes no sense, low pay, "busy work", management is ok but could be better

    Director (Current Employee) Woburn, MA

ProsGood benefits, work-life balance, stable company

ConsManagement has no sense of what motivates employees (at times, they kill motivation), low salaries, promotions take a life time, problem employees get away with a lot because managers do not have the skills to handle them which results in the loss of good employees who are smart enough to move on; IT is a joke; legal department is dysfunctional and it's lawyers do not nothing but complain and talk about each other.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe wise to recognize you don't know it all and that you could learn to be better managers from those managers below you and by the way, don't steal their ideas without giving them proper credit. Don't let your friendships cloud your judgment about a person's performance. Recognize the stars from the deadweight and let them lead. Put the complainers in their place, not those they complain about. Chances are, they are actually working hard for you! pay people market rates. $ is always a good motivator. Reorganize the IT department from the ground up. Do something with your legal department. They remind me of high school.

    Stable company to work for

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsFlexibility, Not crazy hours or weekend work, generally people are nice

Conscareer advancement on each level is very long drawn; salary isn't market

Advice to Senior ManagementBeing a premier tower company, you should focus on employees equally as shareholders, since the results are driven by the employees.

Great Financials but IT needs some work

Business Analyst (Former Employee) Boston, MA

ProsThe folks at this company really like what they do. That's reflected in the financials. They are going through a complete overhaul so right now may be unstable, but on the whole it's a great company to showcase your skills.

ConsIf you are looking for the latest and greatest and most cutting edge technology, you won't find it here. With many legacy applications and too much work for the IT staff on hand, there is not a lot of room for brand new applications. The business has unreal expectations of IT given staffing levels. There are a lot of contractors so sometimes feels like the co has a revolving door.

Advice to Senior ManagementAssess who the key players are and make sure you hold onto them. Though the apps aren't the most cutting edge, there's some really great opportunities there for talented folks who just want the recognition for the work/ideas they contribute.

    Substandard pay, but excellent benefits

Territory Manager Business Development (Current Employee)

ProsATC is growing quickly and there is plenty of business opportunity. Great team-oriented environment, and Execs do listen, even if they don't make the changes you were hoping for. Excellent benefits, better than what I've had at much larger companies.

ConsPay is sub-standard, in my book, for sales people. It seems most of the sales people at ATC are previous Project Managers, and most are content with lower pay. The better sales people hit a cap on commissions that is way too low.

    Excellent entry level hiring company

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Woburn, MA

ProsGreat entry level company, but not the ideal company for anyone interested in longevity with a organization. If you want to bulid your wireless acumen, it is am excellent company to work for to help you launch to other companies within the wireless industry.

ConsThere are very few opportunities for advancement once you hit middle management. Merit increases are inadequate and upper management opportunities along with any type of career development either does not exist or is always a "work in progress".

Great benefits, great executive level leadership, not the greatest supervisory leadership.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsBenefits are the best. Executive management seems to be trying to move in the right direction.

ConsToo many people who are allowed to cut down co-workers instead of being concerned with doing a better job and equipping others. It seems as though it's even rewarded. Not enough training and not enough involvement from managers.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay more attention to getting people the tools they need to do a good job. Listen and ask all employees about why things are not going the way you would like them to go. You have wolves in sheeps clothing among you and they are going to make the company lose money in the long run by running off quality employees.
