    Pros

Great company. Nice people in general but as the company grows there are some not so nice people cropping up every now and then. The benefits are great and lots of good fun activities like year end parties, ski trip , summer events etc. Fully stocked beverages and snacks. The culture is great for the most part. IF YOU LIKE WHAT THEY DO AND ARE NOT TOO PARTICULAR ON HAVING A LIFE OUTSIDE OF WORK - THIS IS A GREAT PLACE!

    Cons

    1. Absolutely no work-life balance. Do not believe that the healthcare is better than litigation for work-life balance (BTW, I was in healthcare). In litigation you may work till 2 am in the morning for 2 weeks straight pre-deposition but after that you will have a reasonably normal life for at least a few weeks if not months. In healthcare you will probably work till 8-9pm consistently. I had to cancel all my dinner plans and other activities 95% of the time. 2. Repetitive and extremely boring work. Depending on your background, If you stay too long at Analysis Group, you might loose your ability to be portable to other industries. 3. One of the problems is that seniors members tend to balance their (family) life at the expense of those who work for them. They are also extremely self centric. This makes career progression for those working for them extremely difficult. 4. 360 degree reviews are useless if you do not address employee concerns 5. Trust your employees when we say - It is not possible to manage 30+ projects. ABSOLUTELY NOT. It may make good business sense but an absolute disaster for people working on the projects. 6. Listen to ways that things can be made more efficient. We don't have to do things in an inefficient way to increase billing.

    Advice to Management

    1. Listen to employee feedback 2. Do not just assume that people are leaving because the economy is improving 3. Work life balance is important. Saying this is not enough. try to implement it.

    Pros

-some interesting technical cases -most seniors are understanding -personal growth investment from others -company events -lots of nice people -training programs have expanded and improved recently

    Cons

-some nice people are actually fake (which you will find out during your review) -some excruciating cases that you can't get off of -gossip culture office politics. free market labor results in highly political atmosphere. seniors and HR gossip a lot. -hour structure is billable. keeping record of how every minute is spent is awful -economic consulting is tedious. good for extremely ( with added emphasis) detail oriented people -limited brand-name of company

    Advice to Management

-as company grows, it's changed. talented s. analysts and even some associates and above have left, but company ignores this. company and HR have framed the employee leaving nonchalantly rather than looking in mirror to say "this may be our fault, how can we retain talent." at end of day, consulting firms only asset is the people, there is no technology or product. as talented people start to leave, i wonder if the firm is what is used to be. don't get complacent. wake up call highly recommended.

Net-net positive but initial placement typically determines what you will be working on during your tenure.

    Pros

The people at AG are really smart and at the analyst level, the camaraderie is unparalleled.

    Cons

Ones success at AG is highly dependent on things such as initial case placement. During interviews, people at AG will tell you about the "internal labor market" and how this "allows you to work on what interests you." While it is true that there is an internal labor market, it is very difficult to switch practice areas. Another issue with AG is that the bonuses do not reflect the amount you work. MBS analysts, for example, work long hours and are expected to be on call at all times. On the other hand, some of the healthcare and healthcare litigation people have extremely tame schedules. Despite the huge differences in the amount these analysts work, their bonuses are typically within $3,000-5,000 of each other.
