    Pros

Flexible work schedule- Free movies every now and then That's All

    Cons

Pay sucks $15/hr ft, $11 pt mileage reimbursement $.32 natl avg $.42, accepts any job offered w/o proper personal or knowledge and management VERY dishonest.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

How can employees be considered in sales & no type of commission offered only D.M.'s receive, at least Walmart give out bonus checks. To be effective hire more personnel rather than short changing clients. Pay enough to make a decent living if person going to work more than 3 stores a week.

    Pros

Adjustable scedules. Movies sent by studios are a nice little perk.

    Cons

Manager tells associates to lie on surveys. A manager will tell an employee to take a picture and lie about its location. Managers often tell associates to lie about amount of time spent on a particular task.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Check up on the way your managers are treating your associates.

    Pros

Flexible schedule, decent pay ( when you get it )

    Cons

Very dishonest both to employees and the stores they contract for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trying Promoting someone other than a friend of Charlie Anderson's. Watch you DM's , they like to change employee hours to make themselves look better. Stop stealing money from employees. Be honest with your clients and stop telling employees to lie to them. Promote talent and skill, not years on the job.

I have been working at Anderson Merchandisers full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, acceptable pay rate, Dash Ex app + iPhone are significantly better than the previous handheld iteration.

    Cons

There's not nearly enough time given to complete all the work expected. Limited career opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You're field reps need better communication/more transparency from Plano, TX. Hours were cut starting in November yet the workload remained the same. No explanation has been given for this and makes no sense considering how the retail industry operates during the holiday season. Not to mention it being the worst time of the year to have decreases in assigned hours.

Activity surveys need significant work done on them. There are constant mistakes. Whomever is in charge of them needs to actually go through them, as a rep would, to verify that they are working/reading as intended and then make the appropriate changes.

I have been working at Anderson Merchandisers full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

1.Reasonably flexible schedule - within the parameters set by DM.
2.A percentage of those (not all, I might add) who were on board before the pay restructure in Spring 2014 enjoy a higher hourly rate than those hired after that timeframe.
3.Room for creative thinking: as you understand how the company operates you realize ways to work smarter - not harder.

    Cons

Company works on percentages, which equates to an overload of projects injected into the field, which in turn leads to an incredibly stressful work life for those who feel they must fulfill every project/request to the maximum.

T-shirts, ballcaps, $5 incentives for secured (prolonged) placement on sales floor of displays the company feels may not be successful if they don't add a "bone". This I find insulting to the adult field staff. Anderson's idea of an incentive is akin to what I dare say most of us who are parents would perhaps have used/do use to incentivize our teenagers. Please stop doing this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I do know the company monitors websites such as this as I'm sure many others do, therefore it would appear the author of "Love my Job" is a member of Anderson management or there would be no reason to remain anonymous. Only those of us with negative comments fearing retribution have reason to not only hide our name/job title but our location also.

So basically stop lying and make a better attempt at looking after your staff, as truly that is the best way to circumvent negativity and get the best out of your employees. You have a lot of dedicated people who really do want the company to succeed as most of us out there do actually comprehend that working for a company with a strong foothold in the industry leads to job security. Part time staff, although cheaper, will never afford you an edge in the field as they don't have a vested interest in the company. When are you going to understand that? Look at how other companies have succeeded.... Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey to name just a couple, come to mind. This company could soar to major heights if they would just adequately support the field staff.

To end on a positive note - many thanks for the SAMs Club membership. That is very much appreciated.

I worked at Anderson Merchandisers full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

-Consistently changing and keeps you learning new things.
-Very flexible with your time as long as you complete all projects.
    -Pay is ok.
-Technology sometimes makes things a lot easier and helps you be more effective.

    Cons

-Expectations are very unrealistic at times.
-Sometimes there are projects that are dropped on you at the last minute and you have to get them done but cannot go over your time.
-Changes your pay structure sometimes without notice.
-Says they are growing but then lay people off because of the "new direction".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Take care of the amazing associates you have. Take care of the great employees you have and not think that you can get a better employee for a cheaper compensation.
-Talk to your managers and associates and help them understand the direction. Give them a purpose and the correct information to complete their task successfully. Way to many "I do not know or I can't talk about its"

    Pros

Work on your own, can somewhat make your own hours if your part time. You get to meet celebrities when they have signings for books or CD's. That's pretty cool. They offer insurance, even if your part time. Sometimes the company sends you free stuff.

    Cons

Company just wants a body in there to stock shelves. You're in Walmart! Most smell, bathrooms are disgusting, don't feel safe at night. Employees at Walmart are pretty nice, just the clients are the smelly ones. There are midnight releases and some Saturdays. Lug heavy boxes back and forth. Search the back room for your stuff, which is scattered everywhere.

Field works hard, corporate seemed directionless

I worked at Anderson Merchandisers full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed working with the team I built as a District Manager. Pay was competitive, though tied to commission on declining products. Insurance and 401k were poor and below industry standards.

    Cons

No work life balance at all for management, work dominated my life daily. Leadership at corporate seemed directionless and communication was poor. The company spent millions of dollars on an initiative without figuring out how to make any profit from it. This huge loss of money was a big factor in causing layoffs. Layoffs that I had to do. The company seemed to struggle to find a way to stay relevant and profitable, when their business model was so outdated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find new senior leadership who can create, and communicate, a clear plan for the future.
