    Pros

Its a pleasure working with some of my colleagues who i see as family.

    Cons

Management lie to you about opportunities for progression to keep you in the position your in. The pay doesnt reflect the amount of responsibilities that are put on you. Admin are made responsible for managers duties and not rewarded or even thanked for works achieved. You are encouraged to lie to exsisting customers who have remedial works outstanding in order to achieve revenue targets. Managers falsify figures to achieve revenue targets. There is little to no training and you are expected to just get on with it and learn yourself. The office conditions are appalling and in some cases not deemed a safe working environment. HR are more like counselling and are there to just listen and not action. Field managers are paid double what admin are and are either less experienced or just down right lazy and do the very minimum. If you are hard worker, good at your job and very helpful then you will just get took advantage of. Field managers are not employed on experience but employed on how well they know senior management. Management speak to admin like crap and laugh when its witnessed to make it look acceptable. Admin are not warned or punished when they speak to customers, with what can only be described as, disrespectful and appallingly.

    Advice to Management

Shut down, restructure, review pay, review mangers experience to pay, give employees better incentives and career stepping stones then possibly think about reopening for business.

    Pros

Fast paced environment, challenging, rewarding when you get things done, autonomy to achieve and thrive if a self starter. Recognises talent and hard work regardless of what role you do.

    Cons

Can be a bit slow to get wider cultural change in the business, typical large organisation issues with communications and silos

    Advice to Management

Continue with commitments to improving Anglian for all, employees, self employed representatives, customers and shareholders

  9. Anglian offers a wealth of experience, however in a company with a short-term mind-set.

I have been working at Anglian Home Improvements

    Pros

Because of the short-term mind-set of Anglian and the demand for quick results, as an employee you have much exposure to all inter-related functions surrounding your job role. There are few barriers in place to inhibit your develop and Anglian does offer considerable training support in comparison to rival and local companies.

    Cons

Communication amongst departments is weak and although a controversial point, top management in areas of the company appears to have been awarded their positions based on who they know rather than on merit. If you're not in the right social circles, opportunities for promotion could be non-existent. There are large salary gaps between employee levels and the short-term approach adopted by senior management raises concerns over long term viability of the company.

    Advice to Management

Take a seriously hard look at top management and recognise the voices within that crowd that talk good business sense and those that are disguising a lack of ability. A modern approach to business management is required to utilise concepts that enable effective strategic planning as opposed to short-term wins.
