Great place to work with great people.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Houston, TX

ProsPlenty of challenging work, and encouragement to do as much as you can. No one will ever try to stand in the way of you gaining new skills. Literally everyone is important to the team regardless of specific job title. The people are excellent as well and, for the most part, always willing to take the time to answer questions and help.

ConsAlong the same lines, there is an endless amount of work and definitely not too much staff on board. Can be a good thing, but can also be overwhelming at times. Not a whole lot of structures and processes in place for the new and/or less experience people coming on board.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Positive Summer Internship Experience

    Summer Field Intern (Former Employee)

ProsI was a field intern for Apache, helping with well recompletions, mechanical work, and maintaining production. The internship was very well managed, with an emphasis on training. I learned a lot and was well compensated. Also, a successful internship gives a you a good chance of being hired by Apache in the future.

ConsThe hours were outside the typical 9-5 job, starting as early as 6 and days occasionally lasting 12, without overtime.

    Entry Level

Drilling Engineer (Current Employee) Houston, TX

ProsThis company allows all employees to have the freedom to explore and make decisions. You can take ownership over your work and be proud of the work that you do. There is almost immediate value added to the company, even in an entry level position. It is a very enjoyable place to work. I would be hard pressed to find better pay and benefits.

ConsI work long hours, but that is expected in any entry level engineering position. I have no additional ones at this point, but will update if any arise.

ConsWith the recent oil boom in multiple regions Apache has not been as selective about hiring employees as they should be.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure to recognize the future leaders of apache and foster an environment where they can develop a clear career path.
