    Pros

The people are some of the best, great opportunities to learn and go, it is really hard to get fired here, benefits are great.

    Cons

There is a bad atmosphere that is permeating ever since the stock prices fell. The opportunities are getting to be fewer and fewer and the whole company seems to be afraid to take any more risks.

    Advice to Management

Practice what the company preaches. There are many in management that do not practice or understand the basic business concepts that are taught in the Apollo Education Group schools. Let's embrace innovation and bring out the best this company has to offer!

    Pros

Fast-paced environment with a high-tech company feel. Lots of autonomy.

    Cons

Cost-cutting is a way of life at Apollo. If you can live with constant ambiguity, not a bad place.

Company is o.k. but opportunities for growth are limited... classic case of over promise and under deliver

I have been working at Apollo Education Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    - Great Benefits- the company used to have superb benefits and they use to pay for all of it, but with the changes in healthcare now the options are still pretty good but you have to pay quite a bit for them.
    - You meet and work with wonderful, multi-talented, and capable people of all walks of life
    - Company values diversity and shows in staff

    Cons

    - Limited opportunities for professional growth (company typically does not promote from within)
    - Asides from very rare exceptions, there is Very little professional development, training, and coaching from direct supervisors. They consider webinars "professional development" and expect staff to acquire knowledge and skills on their own.
    - They have placed a cap on salary increases- especially on the exempt employees.
    - Executives say they have "an open door" policy but anyone who questions them or brings a concern to the table is shun from promotions

    Advice to Management

    - The people who work for you are just as important as the services you provide; train them better, provide more financial incentives. TRUST and EMPOWER your people; they are capable!
    - Do an exit interview after your people leave for other companies. You could learn very valuable information and if you would put it into practice, you would avoid the departure of many talented individuals.

    Pros

I gained good experience and had the pleasure to work with some very good people. Apollo has a lot going on, so there is always something interesting going on.

    Cons

Apollo is a big, heavily regulated global corporation, and like other similar organizations, things can get slioed and political pretty easily. This is exacerbated by frequent management turnover.

    Advice to Management

Learn to leverage what you have instead of trying to reinvent the wheel repeatedly

    Pros

Steady work, comparable wages and benefits, positive business (they don't build bombs)

    Cons

Constant reorganization and poor internal communication. Lack of cohesive vision.

    Advice to Management

Pull it together, choose a direction and get there.. As a unit.
