    Pros

Apple focuses on growing you as an individual first. Their process may be difficult to understand at first however it does make sense in the end. The culture is A+, note there will always be some individuals that go against the culture but for the most part it is fantastic.

    Cons

Some co workers have "drank the kool aid" and are difficult to handle. Work life balance can be difficult based on the position you have.

  3. I loved a lot of things about Apple, but at the end of the day it was just another retail job.

    Pros

The people you work with are fun, kooky, and the real beauty behind the work. You learn a lot and are exposed to what retail can be in a luxury style environment. There's no commission for this job and lots of encouragement and resources to expand your customer service skills.

    Cons

There is a LOT of favoritism among managers, and from what I saw it wasn't performance based, but rather how well you could kiss butt. This was just at a store level but I know there was lots of frustrations in management at my store, because of a lack of support for them, so it was a very rocky road for some.

    Advice to Management

To upper retail management: support the managers. To store management: those that ask for responsibility and are not trying to kiss your butt still deserve consideration.

    Pros

Meeting a lot of cool people.

    Cons

Too many talented employers but too many less intelligent managers. I mean it.

    Advice to Management

to who? to Tim Cook? I like him but I want Steve back. Please bring him back to us.

    Pros

Competitive financial compensation, but you'll never be busier in your life. You will learn more about customer service and managing relationships than you ever have before.

    Cons

It's still retail at the end of the day. There is a glass ceiling. It's very difficult to get into leadership roles, and even harder, near impossible to go corporate. Only 2% make it to Corporate. So many talented people had to leave.

    Advice to Management

Stop brining in outside management. Promote your own people. Too many talented people have already left because they had to put up with political bs from ex-Gap, Pottery Barn, Old Navy managers who don't "get apple".

    Pros

Pays pretty well for retail. Training (when you can get it) and opportunities (if you have a supporter) can be good. Products and services are outstanding.

    Cons

Political. Back stabbing. Cliques. Stores are crowded and noisy. Perks removed, apparently because of Steve Jobs. You definitely need to have an ally in management. Employees "spy" on each other in the name of "feedback." It's easy to get painted with the wrong brush. Rewards aren't as good as they should be for so many contributions to the bottom line. Like being in high school again.

    Advice to Management

Don't try so hard to find fault. Some feedback was completely bogus. You seem keen to jump on the slightest "mistake," often before getting all the facts.

  8. Underwhelming - working for Apple in Canada is not satisfying

    Pros

Products are amazing and they are some great people who work there

    Cons

Company is cheap and they don't value work family life balance

    Advice to Management

stop the charade about driving for best products, when you are driven by Sales, $$'s and share price

    Pros

Great group of people that come from diverse backgrounds... You can learn a lot about the products, on a day to day basis. If you love Apple, this is the place to be at.

    Cons

Meeting your personal metrics is a priority for the store - managers deny it, but it is basically a sales job... If your good at it, you'll last - if not, good luck.

    Advice to Management

keep looking at everything else that make great employees - not just the metrics. It's harder to measure... but that's what differentiates someone that loves to work there vs. someone that's just a great salesperson.
