I worked at Apria Healthcare full-time for more than a year

    Pros

the industry and products Apria sells are very interesting. they do a lot of good work for their patients and some very smart, experienced people have gone through there.

    Cons

salary & bonuses were on the low side in many cases. the politics get pretty nasty there since it's a PE owned company and the board is changing out its top execs every year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

create some stability, optimize staffing levels so you can pay the proper market rates and not chip away at benefits and bonuses every year. invest in your key folks not just who agrees with you and kisses butt.

I have been working at Apria Healthcare full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Able to set your own schedule in many positions; once you learn the ropes, many will listen to your ideas; average benefit coverage; able to offer innovation

    Cons

Lackluster management; many new hires put into positions of power without knowing what the company sells and offers; substandard staff; little investment into future growth; low salaries compared to industry; constant worry of layoffs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be brave and invest in growth through technology and better employees; stop second guessing every decision; stop hiring outside expensive consultants, many of your own employees know what to do to grow!

I have been working at Apria Healthcare full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Freedom to set your own schedule.

    Cons

No raises in 2014 company wide. Benefits are not very good. Commission is scaled based on % to quota and full commission payout is virtually impossible to reach.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Devise a compensation system for sales that is fair.

    I worked at Apria Healthcare

    Pros

Good pay. Benefits are good too. Enjoyed working with peers. Management was good but always sometimes could not help orders that was handed down to them.

    Cons

Overworked. Expected to do more than one can handle. Not enough employees so it was hard to get off a week for vacation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sometimes the policies made it harder to do the job

    Pros

Large company, several locations, management, office size, access

    Cons

Not enough training and employees not willing to train new ones.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Apria Healthcare full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They allowed me to work from home when I needed to. The work hours were pretty flexible. My coworkers were very helpful. The employees really cared about their work and the customers.

    Cons

Company seems to be adjusting to the changing health care environment and as a result may not have as many openings as they get their strategy in place. They have changed direction a few times in the past few years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep focuses on the customer experience.
