Was a great company to work for!

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Arbitron full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGood pay and working conditions, improved organization, now acquired by Nielsen.

ConsDifferent location now and Nielsen has bought it out, not that that is a "con" as such, but Arbitron no longer exists as such doing independent radio and television research.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Stressful Experience

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Columbia, MD

I have been working at Arbitron full-time for more than 10 years

ProsMedical Benefits and coworkers are great

ConsManagement has no clue. Not diverse in their hiring or promotion practices and this is not a good thing when you think about the fact that they are suppose to do unbiased surveys.

Advice to Senior ManagementNielsen has acquired Arbitron and not surprisingly, although they are a global company, they are just as NON-diverse. The new CEO needs to walk the talk about diversifying their upper management staff. Also, management should not be so quick to dismiss the historical knowledge of older employees that have been with the companies they acquire just to be able to quickly lower their payroll.
