Positive

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Minneapolis, MN

I have been working at Archiver's part-time for more than a year

ProsFun work environment. Employees have similar interests, scrapbooking, cardmaking, crafting.

ConsPoor corporate culture and poor compensation. Very poor training and no real career opportunities.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I spend more than I make :(

Part-Time Customer Service/Instructor (Current Employee)
Saint Louis, MO

I have been working at Archiver's

ProsGood Employee Discount
Flexible Scheduling
Co-workers with similar interest/hobbies

ConsNo Insurance
Low Pay
Not enough time/materials/tools for classes
Discontinued Out of Inventory items are DESTROYED rather than donated to schools or non-profit groups
No recycling

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure your instructors have time and materials to prepare for classes. Allow enough time for classes - does anybody in charge READ the customer evaluations? Provide ongoing training for employees - there are new products coming out all the time - teach us about them so we can sell them for you! And donate the old out of inventory items to a non-profit instead of destroying - so wasteful!

Specialty Retailer in Culture Change

Store Sales Manager (Former Employee)
Marietta, GA

I worked at Archiver's

ProsIf you really are an avid scrapbooker and enjoy being around people who do, this is kind of a dream job. Archivers is truly a unique specialty retailer with a remarkably untapped and very focused niche.

ConsCompany going through lots of growing pains with the challenging ecomomic environment. Sales and service focused, but fewer sales associates to do the job.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet more input on what is going on at the store level from your Managers and people on the front line. Listen to them!

Great Place to work if you love scrapbooking!

Sales Team Lead (Current Employee)

I have been working at Archiver's

ProsArchiver's is a fun place to work if you are a paper crafting enthusiast. The discount is decent at 30% off....

ConsThe pay is terrible even for the assistant store managers and store managers. Most work here as a second job or strictly for the discount.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe pay is so low it is almost an insult to the employees, it is literally below the poverty level!
