    Pros

Good hours, Good pay, Great people to work with on your same level.
Training is available though sometimes hard to get approved

    Cons

Management's skill is outdated. The people working for them know the best practices that are current and can be stymied by the outdated processes. There is a constant tug of war for power between Australia and America.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work better with the employees to allow them to advance. Don't pick favorites and give the best opportunities to them.

    Pros

The middle managers and below work really hard. Really good team works amongst this level of managers.

    Cons

Dealing with the slowing moving, short sighted, not on the same page Senior level executives. Have the head office is not helpful. All major players in the industry are US based.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire some good leaders

Former Employee - Supply Chain/Component Engineer in Las Vegas, NV

    Pros

Decent pay and benefits. Big company with a small company atmosphere. Many employees try to make a difference.

    Cons

Processes and procedures are not documented. If it is, it is not being followed. Archaic/obsolete PLM system. Old world relationships of hardware/electrical engineers with suppliers and coworkers hinder honest business practices.
Australian headquarters reluctant to share power with the USA location.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Replace M2K. Processess and procedures need to be documented and followed - Aristocrat is not mom and pop business.

    Good company, missing vision

Current Employee - Senior Software Engineer  in  Las Vegas, NV
Current Employee - Senior Software Engineer in Las Vegas, NV

    Pros

    Pros – 1) Good Salary
    2) Perfect Work-life balance
    3) Flexible time schedule
    4) Not much pressure.

    Cons

    1) Not much career growth. Seems like you hit a ceiling at a point.
    2) Lack of training opportunities.
    3) High level management is bad. They don't have any vision and when they do come up with a plan, they tend to fail in execution -- time and time again...
    4) A lot of processes that take time away from producing product and are hard to follow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be innovative with a clear vision and EXECUTE and follow through on the vision. Nothing will bring scorn faster than failing to follow through on plans time and time again.

    Pros

Pay, benefits, employees. Remote work is fun...

    Cons

Penny-pinching, mis-directed, losing market share, scrambling in too many directions, asking too much from employees for the pay, no solid HR policies!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have forgotten your philosiphies- Family first, work/life balance..

    Pros

    Generally good work-life balance.

    Cons

If you have an accent or are in with the right people (read: cliques), you'll have more opportunities for advancement within U.S. and abroad.

Current Employee - Senior Software Engineer  in  Las Vegas, NV
Current Employee - Senior Software Engineer in Las Vegas, NV

    Pros

    Good pay and benefits.
Better exposure to the gaming industry because company is a larger player.

    Cons

Always playing catch up with competitors.
    Sr. Management decisions are poor.
Indian Development Center is a disaster, U.S. teams always coming to the rescue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire yourself. Absent that, please hire more people that actually have gaming or casino experience. Also, new U.S graduates are just as competent and will have a higher probability of making the job a career than Indian consultants.

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Las Vegas, NV

    Pros

    great work life balance
very talented people to work with
generally a fun place to work
people are overall pretty nice and welcoming
    great insight into gaming

    Cons

two things help you move up: having an accent and being a man. Throw in being a caucasion and you are golden.
lots and lots of people get overlooked regularly. It's the same people all the time who get recognized.
Horrible silo problem - poor communication problems between departments. They've been working on it, at least.
Morale sank a couple of years ago...thus far efforts to correct aren't working as well as they could.
No hope for growth in most areas. Where you come in is where you'll stay.
Never heard of anyone getting an amazing raise here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Notice your people -- all of them. Even the little guys. It's the difference between retaining great talent throughout the organization and consistent turnover. Spend less time bragging about what new top talent we got (leaving everyone to wonder how much they must be making) and more time nuturing the talent you already have.
