    Pros

I loved working for University Directories. I made lifelong friends and even more, I gain skills that would lead me to getting job interviews and opportunities at companies that would never even take the time to look at my resume without this experience. I strongly believe that my success at this company is the reason why I am getting job recruiters calling me for jobs!! I would do it all over again if I could!

    Cons

Very long hours and poor communication between the field and home office. Sometimes I felt that I lost sales or had unhappy customers not because of lack of service on my end, but home office's end. The job takes a lot out of you and being an independant contractor sometimes messes up how much you are paid after taxes but the cons of the job exceed this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better your communication between home office and your accounts from your sales reps

    Pros

Great people to work with and good advice given from credible people. Enthusiastic and exciting environment. Expansion of network for future references, and great help having Career Partners.

    Cons

Difficult to sell phone book ads to small businesses in small towns with the bad economy. Phone books are no longer as popular as they used to be.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Could use better organization, I found myself in situations where clients were looking for art proofs or invoices but weren't receiving them when told. Quicker response would have been helpful from managers when called or emailed, some questions needed to be answered that day.

    Pros

You are in charge of your success and are given the tools during training and have the constant support of your managers during the summer.

    Cons

You work long days and sometimes it can get a little overwhelming when you have a rough day...or a couple days. Also the pay isn't great.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more opportunities for time-off. Maybe a reward system. Its hard to work long hours every day all week and be the leader of your team and not have that recognized.

    Pros

The company cares about the growth of our interns. Fun atomosphere to work in! Enjoyed everyday in the field. advancement in company based on pereformace!

    Cons

The companys payment of sales reps and full-time employees leaves much to be desired. Bonus structure is far fetched. Need more discipline.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please don't lose focus on what has made University Direcotories the company it was when I was an intern. Interns are the future of your success

    Pros

Great job for someone looking to enhance your resume, not for someone looking to make a career.

    Good commission rate
    Good hours
    Good Managers
    They pay for your training

    Cons

    Hard to sell the product
Can be hard on people to go day after day and dealing with angry customers that had a messed up ad from the previous year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do less roll playing during training and offer more real life examples of what will happen to you in the field.
