I worked at Arriva as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice folk in the regional offices

    Cons

Strategically confused, composed of lots of different little acquired companies, very old fashioned leadership, UK dominated which upsets the EU companies

    Advice to Management

Time for some retirements at the top.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Arriva full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

meeting different members of the public, job security, love driving. being out and about rather then stuck in doors.

    Cons

have no social life. find it hard to balance work life and family life. feel you dont have much support from management, you are just a number to them. no job safety (meaning you are left on your own, if you encounter someone violent there are no inspectors about in the evening to help you out.

    Advice to Management

think should get more benefits when working weekends and bank holidays. would like to be appriciated more. would like more training so if wish to pursue into management would have neccesary experience for the role.

    Pros

CEO is very good Management leads by example

    Cons

Not a lot of training In the UK there is meritocracy, in other countries not at all

    Advice to Management

Get rid of some useless senior managers who are only interested in the title and their position and sponsoring their friends rather than really focusing on what the right thing for the company is
