    Good experience, slow moving internally

    Financial Analyst (Current Employee)

ProsThe people are great to work with, everyone is willing to give career or business advice. Very conservative atmosphere keeps the workplace professional. Fast-paced industry provides a lot of different opportunities.

ConsExtremely slow moving with promotions, senior leadership has zero work-life balance but a lot of managers and directors fight for it for their teams. Very behind in technology for employees, investing in the wrong places - extremely externally focused with spending.

Advice to Senior ManagementPromote work-life balance, invest in employees

ProsInnovation in certain segments of the corporation, aggressive global growth strategy

ConsLarge, global company with challenges in keeping employees cohesive in the goals of the broader corporation. Difficult to maintain work/life balance with tight schedules for multiple levels of review.

ProsTeam Atmosphere... Global Company... Good balance with Work and Life..

    Very process and metric driven.

    Field Applications Engineer (Former Employee)

ProsGood supplier lines and exposure to various interesting technologies. Fellow colleagues are great people to work with and are some of the best human beings out there. Great product training every 9 months.

ConsCan be challenging to implement any long term strategies as directions can change very quickly quarter to quarter, month to month, and sometimes week to week. Health insurance benefit is very poor. Commission incentive is not linear and starts to cut in at a high percentage to plan. Moral is low with a sense of confusion. Process and metric can trump over actual results for political reasons.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't get so caught up with getting the process and metric right, and stick your neck out and help solve a broken process/system when it doesn't make sense. Do less managing and help lead by example and get messy with the troops. It's easy to just execute on the higher-up directives, but you, the company, and the troops will be more successful if you do the right things. The trick is to figure out a way to do it without any one gettng hurt.

    Worked hard, no recognition.

Shipping Clerk (Former Employee) Solon, OH

ProsInteresting co-workers, stable job, paid the bills.

ConsThe managers were horrible. I saved the company $80,000 a year (at my location alone). They never even once thanked me, and did everything possible to make themselves look good as a result. I learned and trained my co-workers on a new system, including my managers and still had no appreciation expressed at all. It really made for an atmosphere that felt oppressive and unrewarding.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to appreciate your people, especially when they are awesome at what they do. Attempt to not be so worried about looking good and inflating your own ego and focus on the benefit of the company, the working family, and those you are charged to manage.

Stable company, relaxed atmosphere, good place to start but no growth opportunity at all

Account Manager (Former Employee) Boston, MA

ProsWork life balance is great, office culture is laid back. Ability to work from home. Company is very stable and has many lines of business across the world. Arrow is adding more to their line card and expanding their service offerings to partners. It will have sustained growth for the future.

ConsCompensation structure is unlike any I have ever seen, there is minimum cut-ins and claw backs for sales reps. Pay is extremely low (paycheck to paycheck low) and doesn't get better even for top employees.
There is absolutely no growth potential at all even for top employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementPut more focus on growth for employees if you want to keep top talent.
Realize that well below average pay does not motivate employees.
"Put employees first, customers second and stakeholders third, in the end everyone will be happy"
