The worst job I have ever had.

Hazard Insurance Specialist I (Former Employee)
    Florence, SC

    ProsCheap medical plans, relaxed environment.

ConsMonotonous work, limited disclosure, complaints nor suggestions for improvement are heard unless you are at management level.

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide and make aware of job aides that would prepare your employees for their next promotion. If your employees bring up suggestions to improve efficiency, listen to them objectively and actually try to figure out if it would work. There is far too much complacency in this company, it should not take one person ten years to only be a step below manager.

ProsGood Benefits but not much else at this company.

ConsPoor training, Mgmt does not listen to ee's, Only concerned with meeting metrics and not concerned with customer experience.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your employees comments and you would not have such high turnover.

Believe me...you are just a number

Customer Service Representative III (Former Employee)
    Duluth, GA

    ProsGood pay
    Good benefits
    Extra perks for "performers"

    ConsVery high turnover in management
    Quiet, non-confrontational employees are ignored
Atmosphere is similar to a high school: everybody is worried about what the other person is doing
Management often lacks experience and skill since they were promoted because they "knew" someone
Long term employess are not valued for their knowledge, but seen as dangerous know it alls
Human Resources does not adequately monitor the relationships between personnel and their supervisors

Advice to Senior ManagementTake some classes before taking the job
Value your experienced employess instead of beng afraid of them
Listen to your staff and act upon their suggestions
    Have a little empathy

The grass is not greener here, I ASSURE you.

    (Former Employee)
    Atlanta, GA

ProsBenefits and compensation seem good on the surface.

    ConsLack of training
    Very heavy workload
    Unrealistic expectations

Advice to Senior ManagementGive new hires a chance to learn before you put a ton of work on them. In less than 2 weeks, I was put on projects and told to work reports with very little direction. There was no training class and absolutely no structure. Even when I stated I needed more time to learn, I was told that I was fine. The person I job shadowed with did not explain the job well at all. Every morning, I had no idea what I was supposed to do that day. I left that place after 2 weeks. For the first week, everyone kept saying, "you came back". Now I know why. Run away!!!

    Very Stressful!

    Customer Associate II (Former Employee)
    Duluth, GA

ProsMoney and benefits are good if you can put up with the atmosphere. Most employees friendly.

ConsSome employees in call center would not have been employed by other companies for Customer Service; couldn't speak well nor write well. Under educated. Sometimes explosive atmosphere: 2 women employees shoving a maintenance worker to the floor for servicing rest room and hanging a closed sign. But, THEY needed to use that rest room when others were available. Belittling of employees in front of a group, false promises, very reactive, not proactive. Every thing seemed to be a 'fire'. No accountability by management or staff. HR very, very supportive of management and to heck with the employee. Managers always away in a meeting, left group to flounder except for a 'lead' rep who sometimes was slow to respond or not at all. Lack of continuation training and development--management didn't have time for it's employees! Dress code was in constant violation--some women looked at though they were dressed for the evening, complete with huge wigs, false eyelashes, revealing outfits, 6" spike heels; was an every day outfit for a lot of women. Business casual was the target. I saw flip flops, raggedy jeans and blouses. Only the men seemed to dress appropriately.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind a business unit that works, tear this one apart and start over. Hire people suited for the position. I had a 2 minute interview before being hired. HR didn't do final interview, 1st level managers did which I found strange.

    terrible

    Customer Service Representative (Former Employee)
    Columbia, SC

ProsMost of the people are nice

ConsPeople assigned to assist you as supervisors are poor. They run around all day doing nothing, and not available. Customers are allowed to say anything to you. You can't do anything but listen and take it.

Advice to Senior Managementconsider your employee feelings. Employee should at least be able to say "M'am or Sir, I will have to discontinue the call if you continue with the vulgar language." or something of the kind.

    Not a pleasant work experience

    Insurance Examiner (Former Employee)
    Miami, FL

    ProsThe company offers great benefits.

Consthe management is not effective at all at providing staff with leadership.

Advice to Senior ManagementThink about the staff by listening to their suggestions for improvements. Maybe have an anonymous suggestion box in each department.

Awful overworked used not appreciated for hard work

    Customer Care (Former Employee)
    Springfield, OH

    ProsLocation, other employees, training ok

ConsManagement poor, Conditions worked until burned out, no help with clients, clients always unhappy on the phone with our work ethic, will not allow you to go to restroom or get water when needed unless on break or lunch Management has no clue what to do, poor pay for what you do and fire you before benefits begin. Many employees on medication for blood pressure due to work performance and fear of being fired on the spot. Glad I am out of there.

Advice to Senior Managementwork for 3 months then out of a job no help from management management has no education or disappear when needed clients suffer and we look stupid as employees. They lie to you about your performance and can you the next day
