Atmel is becoming a better place to work.

Fab Operator (Current Employee)
Colorado Springs, CO

I have been working at Atmel

ProsAtmel has great benefits and the compressed shift schedules are great for working parents or someone trying to go to school. The salaries are pretty competitive for the colorado springs area. There are some opportunities for advancement. Atmel in colorado springs seems like it is trying to become a better and friendlier place to work, management is communicating better with employees and trying to include them in the process of making the fab more streamlined and profitable.

ConsManagement is very inconsistant in dealing with employees. Some supervisors bully and threaten employees and most of us feel like there is no "safe" person to go to when there is a problem with someone in a management position. Atmel has recognized this and is trying to make changes so hopefully things will get better. I think the problems have gone on so long now that morale is very low and nobody trusts that atmel is going to do anything they say they will.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work, everyone will come around when they realize things really are changing.

ProsHi-tech touch and avr products. Make sure that you end up in one of these groups.

ConsSome 'mature' groups that offer no opportunity for promotions.

MCU interview questions

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Atmel

Pros- Growing market share in MCU
- Excellent Products
- Well-established but still a startup like work culture
- Enthusiastic

Cons- Time to market
- Not enough communication makes it difficult
- Lack of resources makes everybody thinly spread and

Advice to Senior Management- Look slike there is a big initiative in hiring senior management like Directors, Executives but no rush in hiring the support teams for MCU and Touch application team
