    Ok Money, Bad Culture

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Irvine, CA

    ProsGood benefits and bonuses

Conslack of leadership and promotions within the company. the pay you start out with is most likely the pay you'll earn in the next few years, even though your skill set and work load increases

Advice to Senior Managementpromoting more within the company and giving a little more raise to increase happy culture within the company

Great company, but disorganized and very poor executive leadership

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    Pros-- Google backed
    -- Free lunches
--Smart people at the individual contributor level
    -- Belmont office is cool
    -- Great CTO

Cons-- Bad leadership from CEO to President. They are both smart people, but not leaders. One is a VC guy and the other is real estate investor, not executives or leaders. They do not lead by example or promote a culture of fun, trust , teamwork or innovation.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest more into your people. Stop laying people off because you have no idea how to run a business. Invest in technology, as there will be strong competition soon in this space. Hire great sales people as assets are not coming in like they use to. Keep you current HR recruitment team in tact. They are great, especially Ali. He hired me and everyone else here in tech for the most part.

Management Will Lie to You, Be Warned!

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Irvine, CA

ProsWhat I liked about my job here was that I never had to take work home; it wasn't stressful. Work/life balance was excellent. Pay and benefits were good.

ConsManagement. They will lie about almost everything. We were fed a lot of bull about the growth of the company and all of the opportunities ahead of us. It was all lies. There was no chance for moving up from my position so I left.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop hiring people from the outside who know nothing about the real estate business. And please stop lying to your employees.

    Schizophrenia

Senior Leader, Commercial Real Estate (Former Employee) Irvine, CA

    Pros1. Lots of growth
    2. Disrupting the marketplace
    3. Core vertical (commercial real estate group) has really great, intelligent, nice people working who resemble a team
    4. That's about it

Cons1. Company is run by senior leaders who may clinically have Schizophrenia (I will expand)
    2. Senior management is involved in day to day minor details, even though he has hired qualified leaders to do the job. He is involved to the point of reviewing and signing off on simple expenses (ridiculous)
    3. Senior management has an army of folks who dont actually think for themselves and just take marching orders. They often defy logic in terms of how they process their day to day functions
    4. Senior managers are masters of delegation, and do not actually do much work themselves. This way, they appear as they are always doing something but actually don't do much other than take work done by others and stamp it with their names
    5. Things change every day, every week, or every month. Again, senior leaders have what appears to be Schizophrenia so random people can sway the company's trajectory and plans over night
    6. No transparency. Changes in title or pay seldom happen. And when they do happen, it takes almost 6 months and sign off from several layers of senior management. It's absurd and miraculous to see the engine keeps running with so much red tape and ridiculous bureaucracy

Advice to Senior ManagementTrust the people you hire. The senior leaders do not need to be involved in approving expenses, or other minor details. Cut out the culture of Schizophrenia, delegation, and senior leaders who have nothing to do so they probe into the work of others to justify their jobs. The company has (had) much potential. If you actually have a come to Jesus meeting and realize these things, perhaps the company can get on solid footing again. Otherwise the downward spiral will continue

Don't believe the hype from this disorganized company... Read the poor reviews across the internet

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsSending you on expensed unnecessary trips, ability to work from home, free snacks, monthly incentives

ConsManagement does not always check in with you, overall picture is changing constantly ( one week you're chasing a certain type of buyer only to Ignore that same client the next week) that unnecessary trip you went on... Lots of other people are doing the same thing, company wastes money on too much travel, lots of layoffs in a short period of time, this dot com company doesn't even have a proper grasp of the internet

Advice to Senior ManagementObtain a game plan and stick to it. It's hard to stay motivated when the organization as a whole doesn't know what they're doing

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Mediocre management, assume you can read minds....but overall solid place IF you have a competent team leader.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsInteresting work at times, potential for IPO, wide range of asset types sold, opportunity is there if you know the right people.

ConsNepotism, favoritism, unqualified peeps in positions of supervision; typically corporate decision-making.

Very innovative company with highly dedicated and motivated people.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Irvine, CA

ProsHard work at points pays off well, but there are a lot of politics and personalities to navigate.

ConsVery military based management, have outright seen high level executives throw things, slam doors, and scream at staff. I do believe this has gotten better over the years.

Advice to Senior ManagementFear based management isn't a great management style. You have people that want to do well because they care about this organization and doing a great job, scare tactics are not necessary.

    Great environment but limited growth

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat environment and the work culture is great. It was a great learning experience.

ConsThe internal growth within the company is not that great. Contributed a lot of work but did not see any benefits.
