I have been working at Australia and New Zealand Banking full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good pay, flexible work options, good work environment and workplace. Organisation has a good strategy. Staff benefits are good.

    Cons

Too much asia focus. You need to know people to get things done. Needs to be more people oriented culture. Focus is on short term profits and not long term sustainability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dont be afraid to trade off short term gain for long term sustainable growth.

I have been working at Australia and New Zealand Banking full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good banking it experience, located in India nagar egl.

    Cons

Recent management in India are from RBS and Bank of America.
They are recruiting people from these companies and also creating a situation for existing employees who have been in the organisation for long to leave loosing all the IP gained.

If you are not from above companies then you are not likely to get good roles except on paper.

Many senior leaders spend their time on Facebook or dealing with their other outside office business interests.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Time to move to the next company and do damage

I worked at Australia and New Zealand Banking full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Salaries are high. Learning to use simple terms like: 'customer experience', 'strategic adaptation', 'innovation', and 'outperform' ensures a successful career.

    Cons

Nuffs nuffs with narcissistic personality disorders are in control; the matrix structure means that in order to actually do something you need line up 10 different functional areas - none of whom have the same priorities; 'living the values' is code for 'play the game'; systems are beyond bad

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be honest and resign

I have been working at Australia and New Zealand Banking as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Great for personal growth and learning as you are able to learn things from ground level up, it was good training and exposure to the finance industry

    Cons

I felt that there could be more bonding activities, friendlier environment between the teams as everyone was caught up doing their own work. Would be great for the company culture if there were more activities to engage everybody in

    Former Employee - Associate Director

I worked at Australia and New Zealand Banking full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Big and potential to move around (albeit it limited).
    Many careers in one organization
Brand value means you see plenty of deal flow without trying
Good employment policies (although standard for a large organization)

    Cons

Very political. Particular areas worst than others. Be careful.
Many get to senior positions based on length of service making progression hard.
Talent are often seen as a threat.
Flexibility policies are not supported in particular 'old school' divisions. Career limiting if you use them.
A lot of nepotism still exists. As does reverse sexism in some areas.
Internal movements seldom accompany a pay review which is disappointing given like-for-like external hires command market salaries often 125-150% above internal. Hence, ANZ prefer internal hires.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Remember your staff.
Support what is right, not what will help your career.
Don't be threatened by new ideas and talented staff below you.

    Negative Outlook
