    Floorplan Associate (Current Employee)

Do I like my job? Mostly on my days off.

Customer Financial Services Manager (Current Employee)
    Denver, CO

    ProsStability, training, mass advertising

ConsMorale can vary greatly between locations, ever-changing product prices and pay plans, upper management disconnection, very poor behavior tolerated from employees who produce, unqualified people hired and kept on even if they don't produce

Low quality of life with excessive work hours.

    Sales Consultant (Current Employee)
    Fort Lauderdale, FL

    ProsPotential to grow with company

ConsVery low pay plans. I was the top performer in my dealership and made the same amount of money that an average employee would make at privately owned dealerships. Expect work hours to exceed 55 hours per week and your personal life to suffer. Most long term employees are divorced and unable to manage family life. Management mostly varies by dealership, but expect to deal with managers that love yelling at their staff.

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate a manageable work schedule for staff with 40 Hour weeks. Better [pay plans.

    Applicants Beware

    Service Technician (Current Employee)
    Houston, TX

ProsIt's easy enough to get hired and hard to get fired unless you are completely incompetent. Even then, you may get away with it.

    ConsLong hours(70+hours/week)
    Favoritism runs rampant
Impossible to get promoted based on merit, you have to know someone high up or kiss a lot of butt.

Advice to Senior ManagementPromote from within. Stop letting managers hire their friends instead of advancing the people that work the hardest for you.

They treat you well, lots of employee perks.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsBagels every Friday and always bowls of fruit every morning. Free Starbucks coffee. Environment is respectful most people seem happy with their jobs. There isn't too much pressure, but you are expected to produce in a timely manner. The expectations are reasonable. Not too much politics considering it is a large corporation.

ConsCompensation is on the low end of the median and there is very little upward mobility. The only time anyone gets promoted is when a new department is opened and those generally get filled with outsiders. There is a layer of management missing (weird to say I know), but most people report to a director who has no time for managing. There are times when it would be good to have a manager to go to for guidance. However, its also nice that there doesn't seem to be much micromanaging.

Advice to Senior ManagementPromote a few people to managers and look for promising candidates from within for management positions.

    Review of Autonation

    Accounting Manager (Current Employee)
    Lewisville, TX

ProsGreat people, always room for advancement

Consnever had anything bad to say about autonation until a new controller was hired and after a certain incident, i was the only one who was written up and eventually she fired me and brought in someone from her other store to replace me for less money.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere are always 2 sides to every story and maybe you should hear the losing persons side and get all the facts before you terminate a person who dedicated 7 yrs to the company and would have done anything for the company to let someone who had no dealership exp. come in and fire your long time employee.
