    Pros

    Helping others. Get a discount.

    Cons

Better not ever want to sit down.. Absolutely not one chair in the entire store. Try that and work 10-12 hour days.
Expects managers to flip hours and work a late shift with no valid, productive rationale. One would think a manager should be there during the day shift when businesses are open, contacts can be made, not in the late evening. Illogical.
No flexibility. No real-world logic. Ol' Tim is making everyone jump through hoops because corporate and HR want to follow every silly rule to the letter of the law. If some of the things upset them that are meaningless, I hate to see them with something important, constructive.
Do not plan on having a family life. I would bet most of corporate are Republicans with good ole' family values, something they eschew but don't wish for others-when it comes to money.
One day off here, one there. Never a Saturday unless you want to work 5 days in a row of 10-12 hour days. No life. Trust me-on his death bed(and you will die someday) Bill Rhodes won't be saying "Gee, I wish I had worked more!!". Well, neither do your employees. They are not slaves nor should they be thrilled to have a job, any job like crumbs to the poor,
When will corporate America understand that in building morale, a good job environment, fair wages and hours and a true caring about it's employees, the employee would return wholeheartedly his work, his effort and his dedication to a company. Take for example Sargento- many of it's employees won the Lotto. Did they leave. No, they love their job and stayed even though they are worth millions. Could Bill say that about his employees?

    Pros

I liked helping people, and most of the staff were great!

    Cons

My manager decided to hire me, then he hired 3 more people and over staffed the place, and I got hire before them.out of all those people he made me transfer stores to one 20 minutes away (my other one was no less then 10) and told me that he did it because they had no hours, amd wont even pay me for gas or mileage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't over hire because you do stupid stuff oh and if anyone is planning on working at the yucaipa store, I feel sorry for you because the manager doesnt know what he is doing

    Pros

Best in the auto retail industry. Bonuses are great if you get them. Salary is low.

    Cons

Lot of lousy politics from people employed from field.
Directors don't have basic knowledge of excel.
    Extremely overbearing female head.
They will curb all opportunities for growth both inside and outside the department by giving you bad reviews when you apply outside the department.
Lousy political female runs the show!

    Pros

Contacts with mechanics and shops that I would like to work with.

    Cons

Customers expect you to go out of your way to fix their issues at the instant. Scheduled hours are dreadful. Open from 8am-10pm. Parking with surrounding businesses always a haste.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Store management is satisfactory. Corporate advantage is present.

    Pros

People are very friendly; cafe in headquarters

    Cons

People are friendly, but along with that comes a mindset of 'we built this place' and are SURFACE level friendly. You won't get anywhere far here unless you started in a store and have spent the last 20 years of your life working for AutoZone. They only give credit to those they consider to have 'PUT THEIR TIME IN'.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You will forever lose good and bright talent if you do not change the non-acceptance culture of newbies that presently exists.

    Pros

It is what you make it honestly. If you like people you have plenty of customers to interact with and a lot of them become regulars where friendships can grow.

    Cons

Very little pay for the responsibilities you are asked of especially the entry level managers. It seems like the only people making money are the store managers and up. Mandatory add on sales and conference calls where you are called out on not pushing products is fairly humiliating. If you are a part time worker your hours may be cut at any time and it is very spotty from week to week. The company will not back you at all they always take a customer's word over yours no matter how outlandish it is. I was offered jobs daily from customers in other companies and I turned many down because of promises of a set schedule and promotions that were never given to me. Loyalty and trust is a big thing for me and there is no loyalty or morale in this company. Moving on was the best decision I have ever made financially and being there for 6 years it was well overdue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Follow through with promises.
